Went to Bournemouth as coach - impressed so much in a short time they promoted him to caretaker. Did not do too badly there.
2 days wasn’t it, did he even do a training session in that time?

Oh yes sorry I remember nowThat Whelan was so bad that one day Boksic went into Robbo’s office with his chequebook and offered to pay up the rest of Whelan’s contract.
Hopefully not, because it's concerning if that was the case.Is this why it took so long to work out the details? Gibbo talked Carrick into agreeing.
I am the same I don't hate the guy but I don't get the praise for him, as a Boro player he wasn't here that long certainly not to be a boro legend. I cringe when a hear him speak as well he makes Neil maddsion sound elequent in comparison. Maybe he will become a good coach but I yet to be convincedI can both like someone and believe them to be thicker than a submarine door. The two are not mutually exclusive.
I pray that we have some sort of resurgence in form and results pick up, but you can't tell me you're filled with confidence at the club reinstating a bloke who massively under performed and realistically should never have been appointed in the first place.
Any actual hatred towards Woodgate is silly given he is one of our own, but I wouldn't constitute calling him a thick tw@t as hatred. I could've went a step further and called him a thick c*nt, something I've called mates on many occasions but it still isn't hatred.
Simon Clarke is "one of our own" too, am I meant to respect him, because I absolutely do not.Any actual hatred towards Woodgate is silly given he is one of our ow
Anyone you would have been happy with. Negative NorrisFcuking devastated. Woodgate is clearly full of experience hahaha….gutted about both appointments
You're comparing apples with oranges by bringing Clarke into it although admittedly "one of our own" isn't always a reason to like a fella.Simon Clarke is "one of our own" too, am I meant to respect him, because I absolutely do not.
Not everyone from Teesside is great, just because they come from Teesside.
Woodgate was a brilliant player, but he was a disaster in his time here as manager.
If he is so good as a coach why did Bournemouth move him on sharpish and why did nobody else snap him up?
Being a coach for pulis hardly strengthens his case.
He carries more baggage than a porter at The Savoy
Djed Spence for 12.5m and Jonathan Woodgate for 8m (both to Spurs) might explain some of Gibbo’s affection for our Woody and his contributions to the club.I agree 100% about him being a disaster of a manager. Fingers crossed he does well in management with whoever he goes to in the future, and I would love him and Carrick to promote us, but I can't understand why Gibson would bring him back after the way 19/20 went.
You couldn't imagine Gibson bringing back Wilder or Monk to be first-team coach could you.Can anyone name another club that would even consider appointing a previously sacked manager as a coach under a new manager?
I seem to recall also that Woody was influential in the acquisition and development of Djiksteel and Bola, who for minimal costs have become decent Championship players.Djed Spence for 12.5m and Jonathan Woodgate for 8m (both to Spurs) might explain some of Gibbo’s affection for our Woody and his contributions to the club.
Good post starplayer!Woodgate fits the model. Warnock might suggest that his decision to send Spence on loan gifted us a windfall but Woody was brave enough to blood him and showcase his potential. He gave Tav a proper run in the team. Bola and Dijksteel also. There were positives from his tenure. Wilder accepted the model initially but then refused to play Forss and Hoppe. How are they meant to become the potential next Gyorkeres if they are sat on the bench. That is the club we are now. A development club that might strike it lucky and eventually get promoted through the development of players. Let’s embrace the model and develop potential rather than watching more experienced players just going through the motions. Woodgate seemed to believe in it. Carrick does. I think its gonna be decent.
