Alan Nixon says.

Lad on oneBoro saying Gibson want Carrick but Scott wants Edwards. Carrick it is if that's true lol. And looking for a new Head of Football.
They do seem to have an agenda on there though. Some seem in their element when things are going wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think we'll pick up enough points to keep us well in play between now and Jan.

My worry would be we appoint a perm manager now and then he is sacked before Jan, making a disaster out of a crisis.

Would Rob Edwards pick up many more points than Leo? Would Carrick?

Our midfield cannot run, that is the issue.
Agree Colgate.
We dont have a "midfield" - just a collection of individuals.
Very sad - needs to be patched up quick.(y)

It’s crying out for someone to steady the ship this season because we’re not going up. We need a expert in keeping teams up. There was one who used to be knocking about, now what was his name ? Neil W I seem to remember

We absolutely do not need an expert in keeping teams up.

If anything, it'd be better for a new manager to have 3/4s of a season without much expectation but mid-table.

This team is missing Tavernier and has a weak midfield, but it still won't take a miracle worker to get it climbing the table.

There isn’t anyone on that list of names in the betting that stands out as being “the one” - I’d be looking abroad where there are people with a good track record looking for a new challenge, or if Gibson was going to break the habit of a life time get someone over here already in a job. Carrick just sounds like another Southgate/Woodgate train crash in the making appointment. This team needs a proper coach who can get them organised and motivated again, definitely not a rookie who will need plenty of help himself

The new Manager might be tempted by money - but its another hit or miss and - going by form - [6 Managers in 5 years] - we will ending up paying out again....:(

Leo till January would be the biggest waving of a white flag accepting relegation any club has ever displayed. Should have had the next manager lined up before Wilder was given the bullet. Exceptionally poor management from the top again. These are all crucial points and throwing them away by putting the guy who puts the cones out, irrespective of his passion, in charge was a shocking gross error.

Harsh, but very true.

Why do you think Carrick isn’t a proper coach?

To be fair that is exactly what Aitor did when he came in and he was a rookie with no experience of our league. But I agree, it is a huge ask to expect Carrick to come in and turn this round.

I wonder if Woody has slipped Carrick his PowerPoint on a USB to help with the interview?

Of all the names actually mentioned as being interviewed, for me the only one I feel could do a good job yet obviously a gamble is Carrick.

Top player, played at the best level for all his career, serial winner, captained and was an ever present at one of the top teams in the world at the time, never had any nonsense stories around him and seemed to hold his own as interim at Man u, my one caveat for Carrick is that his back room staff consisted of experienced men, mike phelan and Ron M, wbo again have worked at the top level and know football.

I do also understand the gamble but as Leo said in Fridays interview, who is the right manager we have tried everyting and the only thing that seems to work for poor is the first role in management type. (Robbo, SMac, Karanka) what the last few years shows is there a deeper rooting problems within the club, than management, recruitment and sorting deals has been really questionable.

I will say even though not everyones cup of tea Sean Dyche should be the clubs no 1. target, proven!

Perhaps Wilder did something that required immediate action, not allowing time to plan ahead, lots of rumours about !
