The last time was the press conference when Woodgate was announced. As much as we’d all like to hear from Gibson, we won’t. But we should hear from Scott, as he is the head of football.
Where would you expect him to be exactly?Nothing else to add
I am not questioning his commitment at all. It’s clear the club has problems, and I just think some communication goes a long way to alleviating the fans’ anxieties, and helps improve the relationship between fans and staff. I think it was Preston who recently released quite a lengthy statement about where the club was at. I’m not demanding it for me exactly, but I just think it might actually help preserve his status as a revered chairman/owner.Imagine spending your money on season tickets year in and year out, money at the club shop, few beers in the ground maybe and some food. Not to mention the time away from your family on match days and transport to the ground.
You celebrate the goals, and the wins absolutely make your Saturday night. High on the good vibes that your beloved Boro are doing the business.
And then we get beat and everything isn't so rosy any more. You argue with friends about team selection and tactics. Go home, get annoyed with the kids and kick the dog. Saturday night ruined.
And then imagine your mate who you haven't spoken to yet about the game questioning your passion for The Boro. Just because you've not moaned to him about the terrible game that day. The lack of passion from the players and another defeat.
Just because he hasn't heard it from you, doesn't mean you're not hurting. If my mate turned to me and said "oh well, you're not that @rsed about the Boro anymore anyway are you", I'd be livid. The investment that I put into it as a fan.
That's what people are doing with Gibson. I know he's not a vocal chairman. He does his talking with his continuous investment into his club. We're talking millions every season here by the way.
Hes changed the club structure moving away from the constant rebuilds to a more stable and sustainable model. He needs applauding for this in my opinion. To suggest his heart isn't in it anymore is laughable. Just because we don't hear from him!
Im sure he's gone home tonight, shouted at someone and kicked the dog. I'm sure he's hurting like all us fans. Of which he is one himself.
The problem with what is happening at the club isn't down to Gibson. It's other people who are and have let him down. Cut the guy some slack.
I’m not saying he should leave just talk or communicate with the fans. Some of you need to be careful what you wish for. Without him we’d be dust and ashes
You are exactly what insulates him.Imagine spending your money on season tickets year in and year out, money at the club shop, few beers in the ground maybe and some food. Not to mention the time away from your family on match days and transport to the ground.

I wasn't directing my comment to anyone specifically. It was more a general commentary on a lot of fans apparent dislike of our chairman. I think it would be great to get more communication from him. A state of the nation address if you will. But we are where we are.I am not questioning his commitment at all. But surely investing hand over fist isn't sustainable, not to mention ffp. You've got to have success on the field to generate wealth that can be reinvested. If you're not getting that then all you are doing is pumping money in to keep afloat. You are exactly what insulates him.
It is absolutely down to Gibson. Not today's performance in particular, but a 16 year collapse on and off the pitch.
He isn't investing, he is offsetting massively increasing debt caused by the ramifications of his decisions every year.
The owners of Brentford, Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton, Bristol City have injected equity and invested. It doesn't in itself guarantee success, but our financing by horrendous debt has also brought us a club that does nothing but go backwards and which can only be run by Gibson to who the debt is owed.
Stop feeling sorry for the man who has taken us here and who now runs the risk of actually losing the money people like you think he has actually already invested.
Im not so naive to think Gibson hasn't made a single mistake over the years, but the way some people speak with vitriol about him and want him out of the club genuinely astonishes me.
