The club has made appalling decision after decision. The decision making has been a very poor standard I think Keith lamb was brilliant for Gibson the thought that he had to get outside help in the likes of Kenyon says it all and I really thought Kieran Scott would have improved things but 1 year on no difference same old.we need to stop looking at the manager as every manager has struggled since mcclaren we need to look above that at the owner yes he was great for the first 12 years since then very poor he's finding the club on a shoe string and he's struggling in today's world.Alot of Boro fans are in denial but it's getting borring now and continue on this path on a road to nowhere what's the point need someone with ambition and new ideas.Thankyou for your service Mr Gibson for the time under Robo and Mac and the existence ever since.

Maybe put a consortium together and have a go yourself?

The decision making is a lot better than your grammar and spelling - no-smoking would be apoplectic.

You are almost correct your proposal is boring, and denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
A really petty response.
The OP raises legitimate points and makes valid observations.
Gibson has been a disaster since 2006.
The club rallied under Kenyon's advice and lost its brain when Gibson decided he didn't need the advice anymore.

He’s made poor decisions yes. A disaster? Not for me. If you want examples of disasters look no further than Mel Morris.

Thank you some people are just to petty.Just leave them to it.

Gibson sells, we lose everything

There is no-one who would come in, pay Gibson his due and then has enough money left to fund a club that is looking to be in the Prem.....No one

We exist and we should be happy with that

Anyone who remembers 86 will know what it was like to be moments away from not just the town, but the area losing it`s football club

Donating pocket money will not be enough this time round

I lost faith in Gibson after he appointed Agnew to manage us in the prem the so called greatest league in the world and he gave the job to a man that even today had only puts the cones out for Steve Bruce ( a role he went back too).

Oh yes and letting that dinosaur of anti football anywhere near the club as well.

its another one of those repetitive boring threads that get started when we have a run of losses & draws - generally started by the same posters over and over again, that shows the entire globe that football fans have absolutely no clue about football, how it works or the costs involved.

they call for a fantasy land that does not exist.

last season the claim was that we should be aspiring to be Barnsley - i await to see who the football club it this time around that is being hailed as this year's model.

in the meantime, Steve Gibson will continue to pour a quarter of a million pounds every week of his own money into the club so that people like you can sit at home on a Sunday afternoon and talk absolute bollix - he isnt above criticism, but the criticism has to be valid, thought out and factual - not misguided opinions that you may or may not have overheard on the bus, at the bar or down the snooker club.

you think Steve Gibson has been a disaster since 2006 - go and add those £1/4 million a week up, and through the lockdowns - put in place your own finances, put a plan together and have a go - no one is stopping you, please do. and come 2038 season we can all see where you are and how your plan is coming on.

i think Steve Gibson has been a godsend and Middlesbrough Football Club is lucky/fortunate to have him at the helm of our football club - i look forward to you taking your seat in the chairman's chair.

This is the denial bit.

This is always the case mate . When people raise legit points about gibsons running of the club it always resorts to “we could be derby or bolton if we change “ or “ why don’t you give it a go yourself ?”

Ignoring the fact that Gibson will inevitably relinquish control anyway when he’s too old . Some ownership changes have been very good , and some have been poor . Notice they’ll always highlight the poor ones . The fact is, we will continue to underachieve and go absolutely nowhere under Gibson. Gibsons running of the club has arguably been utter dog **** for nearly half the time he’s been here

Utter dog ****?

Have we gone out of business? Have we been relegated to the third tier? Was Strachan worse than Murdoch, Monk worse than Malcolm Allison?

I guess it depends on your perspective and perhaps mindset.

But even if the half was utter dog ****, the other half of Gibsons involvement is the best ever experience for Boro fans. That counts.

Wilder was not a bad appointment and he has been well funded.

The thing is, we’re only two wins away from the playoff positions and suddenly everything looks rosier. It’s a horrible league this.

Gibson is so far from a Godsend.
He makes the appointments and all key decisions that have led us into the debt position that makes us unsaleable.
My criticism is valid, thought out and factual.
Every year that passes it becomes more and more valid.

He has put £63m in by converting debt to equity. This happened 2012,2014, 2016.
His Group have internal loans of £120m - an inter group loan, not gifted.
He's been there 30 years, so he has put just over £2m per season in.

Randy Lerner at Aston Villa and Ellis Short at Sunderland both came unstuck, but Short cleared the debt before virtually giving Sunderland away. Lerner lost close to $400m on his activity at Villa.
Somebody would take MFC on, if Gibson cleared his debt and was prepared to step aside.

Gibson O'Neill is owed £120m by the club. IF he cleared that then he would have put £183m in across 30 years. This would be £6m per year and would be incredible. But he won't do that, not a chance.
That's absolutely fine, but let's stop bandying silly figures about.
£250k per week would be £13m per season, or £390m. Surely even you Johnny on your motorbike couldn't make that up?
