We don’t have any good midfielders at the club. Howson was good a year or two ago, but he’s towing now. Not replacing Tav was criminal and will go down as one of the club’s biggest gaffs in recent years. I don’t even know who is to blame. Gibson, Bausor, Scott, Wilder? Probably all of them, but we won’t recover this season now and will be lucky to finish top half. We are a shambles.

Thought McGree was decent. Has a good pass on him and finds little pockets of spaces well.
Crooks played well in parts and is a goal threat, but slows play down and misses/mistimes tackles often. Need to strengthen in that area in January if we're to get anywhere this season.
Howson was excellent. Mopped up pretty well and played some lovely passes.

McGree isn’t a poor player. He’s a decent footballer. Neat and tidy, plenty in the tank and gets himself into good forward positions. He’s playing in a poor team with a garbage midfield around him.

Crooks worth persevering with. McGree ineffective and too lightweight.
We lack pace, drive, physicality and attacking threat in the centre of the pitch. Jones is suffering from the defensive duties required of him.He needs to play further forward. A modern day Souness would sort it out!

Matter of opinions as always. But I think he’s got a lot of good attributes and a decent footballer. Not amazing. Decent at this level for me.

Well Fibson is in charge so the blame lies with him - the buck stops at the top as they say

He’s been pathetic in possession and offered nothing when not in possession
He is a huge problem that needs to be addressed
I have to agree. Iv always been a Johnny fan but he’s been poor this season. Limited. Not sure what money Delph is on and how fit or ‘conditioned’ as Chris like to say he is. But surely he’s worth a look at. You’d expect him to be able to come in with his experience and beef the middle up

Why is he accommodated then? And us and Celtic were so keen. Celtic are in Europe and have some clout when looking at players. They ended up with Matt O’Riley who’s a quality player. McGree was the one they wanted
