Out of Work Managers - Gibson's Cheap MO

As I see Tony Bloom's Brighton (now the model for us to follow) seeking their replacement manager, I note that the two highly-rated Scandinavian coaches they are chasing are, shock horror, currently doing good jobs.

How do we ever expect to improve if Gibson keeps appointing out of work/sacked managers? Only the newbies seem to ever work but it's always a big roll of the dice.

I honestly have no idea who would replace Wilder. I dont think its Gibbo being cheap to only go after a manager who is unattached, its his weird view on ethics and sportsmanship, but it inevitably means we hang on to failing managers too long or we get a really small choice of who happens to be available at the time

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Zinedine Zidane
Laurent Blanc
Marcelo Bielsa
Nuno Espirito Santo
Sean Dyche

All out of work! i would love to see Nuno but i suspect he has higher job expectations than us. I am sure Dyche would come here though.

Zidane would be a great move too! :ROFLMAO:

Never understood why signing a manager that is in work is a problem. It's a transfer, similar to signing any player. Difference is it is a much more important position. If we're willing to spend several million on a striker to play in the U21s then doing the same for a manager shouldn't be a problem.

I agree. Too many staid old names always banded about. Burnley rolled the dice and got Kompany but I recall many on here pouring scorn on the idea. Gibson can’t win so best no listen to us.

If we sack Wilder we will get Scott Parker. Not saying it's what I necessarily want to happen, but that's what i reckon we will do

Why do you think that?
Out of work.
Recent records of promotions to the premier league.
Tries to play a decent brand of football.

Could see him being installed as the bookies favourite and then whether it actually happens or not who knows

Gibson has always stated that he does this out of principle - he does not think it right to poach managers under contract. Shouldn't we accept that as his motivation?
