And is Chris Wilder willing to take any responsibility for these facts, as they both came in under his watch and he gave them numerous starts particularly the lad who was here & wanted to be somewhere else? It's all well and good slagging them off but could we have got better players? In fact getting one striker and persisting with Uche off the bench would probably have been better and I think most people would have said that on Jan 1st too.

He didn't slag off Balogun, he just said the loan didn't work and that he wouldn't have any of last season's loanees back this season.

He made numerous references to Connolly's off the field antics though, I think he had more problems with that than anything else.
 
Someone ssked the question regarding pkayers of today v playets of yesyerday, CW preferred the days of yesterday & went in to great detail to explain why then finished off with & their music taste is awful, he missed a trick when he said, give me Paul Wellar 😜, or the Clash 👌, he failed to mention ABBA, Blondie, or Altered Images 😞

Yet he continued to give more minutes to Connolly than any of the other strikers. Something doesn’t quite add up!

Basically what I thought.

Struggled with injuries, and players ahead of him were performing well, circumstances prevented the move from working, he struggled with the intensity of the Championship and he wanted to go home.

The club were willing to get his wages off the books to try and reinvest it elsewhere, but he's still contracted here and could feature again, but it would be down to Payero himself wanting to play here and putting in the right effort.

What a shocking signing then. No lessons learnt from the Braithwaite disaster and it’s clear that bringing young players from South America is a huge gamble. Especially with tight finances.

But he did reiterate something he's said before when he said that if you look at his history, if he gets on with the chairman and people at a club, he tends to stay long term.

Still got another 2 years left on his contract, sounded to me like he'd be willing to stay longer if things were going in the right direction, though I suppose it would have to be for the club to extend anyway.

I hope he's the longest surving manager we'll have, it'll mean both CW & the Boro will be doing well
 
Connelly lived in the same apartment block as a friend of mine in Eaglescliffe while he was here. He said he was a bloody nightmare, young kids always going in and out, he even had to ring the club about a dog being left in there all day and somebody had to come round and let it out. Steffan has moved in now, but not before it had to be gutted and the carpets replaced.
 
Regarding attendance, it seems like it was a closed shop, bit like the mason's perhaps.

Anyone care to clarify how attendees were invited, as many others who fancied it, didn't see it advertised 🤔
