Jesse Lingard

I think it’s a great signing for them, at those wages it’s 9 million, could they get anyone of similar quality for that much?
If he finds the form he had with West Ham it could be enough to keep them up, which is likely worth over 100 million

A few papers claiming it's 80k/week which is probably more realistic? - I don't think he was anywhere near 200k at Utd

Signed for Nottingham Forest on a one year contract for contract believed to be between 180k and 200k a week. Utterly mental.
One of my friends is a Forest fan and he’s ecstatic about it.

I really hope it blows up on their faces. I can’t see how it won’t.

West Ham offered him 120 he was holding out for more looks like he’s got it. Think he was on 80 ish at Man Utd.

It’s a great deal for him. Guaranteed massive wages for a year and if they have a bad season and are relegated he can’t go rinse another club of another wage and if he does well for them and they stay up then Forest will try to sign him on same wage more than likely

I'd do exactly the same in his position to be fair. £9 million a year for being an average premier league player.

I bet there's 10+ players who play the exact same position (better) wishing they could moonwalk and had the confidence to be an absolute ding on tiktok.

Not really. Paying a player that sort of money who has a terrible goalscoring record and pretty much gave up last year is madness.

On the plus side, they won’t be going after Tav now, hopefully.
He barely got a look in last year and was treated terribly by united. Hes a great signing for a new promoted team. He was excellent at west ham. It's a 1 season gamble.

Although 100k + a week is absurd

It's hardly the type you'd want in the trenches during the probable relegation battle. I don't mean his quality.

I just mean the fact he's only commited for a year. That's a year on more money than West Ham offered. Surely West Ham is a far better move? How much interest will he have if they are bottom in Feb.

He's committed for a year. That year makes him more money than being at West Ham. Then if it all goes t*ts up then he can swan off and do the whole thing again on a free transfer and calling the shots for big money.

You'd argue him and his agent are playing a blinder. He's never a 150-180k a week player..

Then again Balogun was on 40k with one senior goal and Gayle on 50k.....games gone 😂. People wonder why we struggle to sign a forward from the prem.

No chance it's 80k. It'll be much higher than that. These days 80k is average and Lingard is a free agent so is in a better position to want higher salary.

The guy is a mercenary and to be honest thinks he's way better than he actually is. Come to think of it him and Forest will get along fine.
West Ham offered him a contract, you'd think a bit of loyality returned to a club that saved him from championship oblivion and he turned it down.

It’s a short career and can’t blame the lad for banking as much money as possible, more fool Forest.
