Confidence vote to be held today from 6pm!

I reckon he'll 'skin-of-his-teeth it' and continue on bringing shame, incompetence, greed and disaster on us for a while longer until the next round of leaks nails him for something untenable.

Fingers crossed though.

Would sooner the clown hung on than some of the alternatives, but in the event he does lose, I hope it immediately goes to a General Election when they have their new leader.

If people won't vote them out after the shambles of recent years, they never will.

The whips will be being briefed right now.

There'll be political careers on the line today if they don't obey Operation Big Dog.

And there will be careers on the line if they do!

They’ve backed themselves into a corner all of their own making and whatever happens, some of these b***ds will soon be out of the politics game at any meaningful level, for good 👍

Just a matter of time now surely. The no confidence vote was the beginning of the end for May. Johnson was ironically one of the main reasons she ended up resigning.

Let's hope Johnson goes and the Tories are forced into a General Election. The time is now that get this lot out of Government.

The Conservatives need to get him out now in order to stand a chance of winning the next election and give them some time to repair the damage.

He'll win the vote today but it depends by how much. If he stays in power another big moment will be the Wakefield by-election. The pressure might be too much by then.

Remember 173 Tory MP's are on the Gov payroll... they will all be voting for him or they will lose their wages!!

I'm not a big fan of any political party and never have been but I've just emailed my Tory MP to urge him to do the right thing for the country, first time I have ever been that bothered in 40 odd years of being able to vote.
I think this is the big miss step the Tories have done. They got arrogant with their majority and relaxed in the fact the country isn't really very political. The amount of corruption and the partygate scandal and the cost of living crisis is making everyone want to take action. Not just politically motivated people

I think he'll survive due to enough voting for their own interests but it will be close, making Johnson a lame duck triggering a GE.

He'll win, probably narrowly, and hang on.

Can't see him triggering a GE as it's too risky and his number one priority is clinging on to power. Think I read some insider say recently that he loves all the trappings too much.

He doesn't give a **** about anyone other than himself. That includes his party. That penny is dropping for a lot of them now, but hopefully too late.

The timing might save him and because opposition is coming from all sides of the Conservative Party I don't think there's a single coalesced block but plenty of small pockets of dissent, I believe the plan was to drip feed votes knowing everyday Johnson's position weakens and more and more toxicity and negativity sticks to brand 'Boris'

Any normal politician would see a vote of this nature as a signal to walk away even if they manged to win a majority but Johnson, his ego, tone deafness and fundamental inability to accept, take or act with responsibility means he will cling on as long as he can, he will see even a single figure majority as a mandate to continue as he has and no doubt attempt to purge those who stand against him in what he sees as his own personal domain, the ruins of what used to be the Conservative Party.
