We need to factor that some players on the list we might "want to keep", might just be so we can jack up their value if there is any interest. If you want a player out, clubs know it's rock bottom prices (especially if no other interest), if clubs know your player might be first 11, then they're going to have to pay to get him away.
Then there's other players who we know will be in demand, so if there's enough interest you can mark those up as available and hope for mass interest and a bidding war (like we may see with Spence).
I think we would take a good offer on just about any of the big names (Fry, Paddy, Tav etc), based on Wilders assumption he could get someone else in to replace, for less, who may fit the system better. A good square peg in a square hole to replace a great round peg but in the square hole, and 3m cash back might be the sort of thing we're looking at.
One thing is for sure, we're going to need every penny we can get to fix the big, big problem, which is strikers, and if that has to cost us some ability or smaller squad elsewhere then I'm ok with that, it's priority no 1, has been for years. Obviously need a new keeper too, but can't see that being too hard to get for Wilder, or costing too much.
