Starting to unravel but messy
EU states will be able to travel amongst themselves from June 15th.
Bars, cafes, gites in France open from 2nd June

Currently France will ask UK and Spain tourists to voluntary quarantine for 14 days because their tourists are being asked to do the same in their countries

Greece currently banning the worst offenders UK, France and Spain.

They must have got that wrong - Johnson told us (summary) we were the envy of many countries for our response

Greece only allowing 16 EU countries. A complete list of countries:
Albania, Australia, Austria, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, Japan, Israel, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lebanon, New Zealand, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, Norway, South Korea, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Finland.

Nordic countries opening up their borders, but not from Sweden.

This is one for all the the quizzes going on at the moment...

We need this pictorially

France are also allowing bars and restaurants to open with a 1 metre distance rule.
This has to be applied in the UK too.

France recorded 52 deaths yesterday and, for nine days, hasn't recorded more than 100 deaths a day.

We recorded 324 and haven't even got close to 100 deaths per day.

What on earth has that got to do with what I said?
Bars and restaurants over here aren't even open yet and won't be until August.
When they are open the 1 metre rule needs to apply otherwise you may aswell not bother opening any pub or restaurant that isn't a McDonald's or a Wetherspoons, especially when the weather returns to normal.

It's got a massive amount to do with what you said. The virus is still rife here. You can't just go around opening massive disease vectors because you fancy a pint

When the pubs do finally open good luck with applying social distancing. Just look how some are applying it now and we are in partial lockdown.

Where did I say we were opening? Go on quote me, I'll wait for you to make something up.

Swear half of you all on here are so negative it must be a sunshine picnic in your houses everyday.

Kosovo is spot on. Be realistic, I live in the real world not a world of graphs, numbers and predictions. I've said before social distancing is a piece of **** at moment because lots of people are off of work and others are shielding at home. Once the full population is allowed out as normal, June 15th for example when non essential shops are open, social distancing will be near on impossible to implement.

The real world is one of lots of sad families and friends.

As long as you meant when it's safe to do so and not now then it's fine.

You might say the real world isn't full of graphs and numbers but you do realise those graphs, this numbers, represent peoples lives being lost? Represent the deaths of 100s of people?

I am getting sick of saying this, but the economy will only start to recover if we correctly balance the health of the whole nation with safer workplaces.
Thanks to the actions of that absolute bellend Cummings we now have our band of elected liars pushing forwards on releasing lockdown when they'd already started doing so by proxy with the muddled messages.
Our data doesn't warrant releasing lockdown, but their messaging has been subtle enough to make people drop their standards as the weather has improved. Giving notice of this, that and the other days before it comes into effect is just another way of saying crack on now.
People like myself will continue to ignore government advice and maintain social distancing, wear a mask when I do need to go anywhere etc. I'd call it sensible disobedience because in my opinion, we'll soon be unable to deny that we are in a second wave and with parliament going into recess it'll be left to the "left wing media" to hold the government to account. And before anyone accuses me of loving lockdown, remember that I'm working through this and looking after two people on the shielding list and that's why I'm not one of these people jumping on the bandwagon of age-related risks or picking and choosing reports to understand.
What a group of low risk families do could directly impact me and my family if I am not ultra-careful so I will be maintaining my own version of lockdown until we have a vaccine or I die of (hopefully) old age.

So when this is over I'll expect to see graphs of those who have died from cancer everyday?
Or should we publish deaths of everybody who has died everyday and compare it with other countries every day?
Do those dying of other illnesses and accidents that aren't covid-19 not count now?

What exactly do you want to happen smalltown? What's your ultimate plan?

As soon as we're down to their levels there's a good chance it will happen here too. No hurry.

By the way, it's a little silly not associating the excess deaths with the virus. We'll find out in due course if there's been something going on in parallel but it is a bit if an elephant in the room at present.

Not open the lockdown whilst deaths are so high. Open it when deaths fall
Which deaths though? Just covid-19 ones? What happens if that doesn't start falling until October when flu season kicks in? Won't we then be forced to stay locked down until March/April next year as the symptoms of covid-19 and flu are similar?

Excess deaths are creeping back up after VE day if you look at the analysis in the FT. That and our 7day average still being in the hundreds worries me about the lifting of restrictions.
