Oh Wilder (just) Said …

His answer showed disrespect for the fans of his football club that he currently manages.

We have rolled the red carpet out taken him in with a huge fanfare and warm welcome. We have put him on a pedestal shown him huge affection and he puts himself first in his answers, not the club, not the fans, himself, by avoiding ruling it out, he is saying to Burnley in a roundabout way “if you want me, come get me”

Gibson needs to sort this out one way or another by Tomorrow with a statement. If it is left to fester, then all our planning for next season is thrown into turmoil as a new manager means different styles, different targets and with so many out the door, we will be up Seaton Carew without a paddle.

As much as I love Sol Bamba as a person, we can’t risk another Woodgate scenario. We need a proven manager if Wilder goes, but please, someone that plays an attractive style of football that would be an attraction to play for as a player.

Didn't he not do a pre match press conference yesterday?? I hope I'm reading to much into this and that he stays. Best boro manager we had for years.

But if he was to go no one is bigger than the club and we would have to move on

It was Easter Sunday. Take the reading specs off and have a beer.

Rereading it I think you may be right. I think he’s just made a really poor job at frostily basically telling the journo’s asking him, to do one. Let’s face it, he’s not the most eloquent of blokes at the best of times.

I think there is nothing in it, he’s going nowhere and he’s made an **** out of answering a question that has got his back up.
The simple answer and one we all wanted was ‘I’m Boro manager and not interested’.
Thats exactly what he should have said. For some reason he chose not to.

Whats he worried about ? Gibson firing him - no chance
A few extra quid cos Burnley are PL ?

CW has let himself down here.
If by some remote chance he jumped and Burnley were relegated and failed to get promoted at first time of asking - then what? His time in football management anywhere would be over.

Its time for him to rule it out and be quick about it.

Can everyone calm down. Crikey, some of this is pathetic. He’s said he didn’t really want to answer any questions on it as he’s emotional after a defeat. And some of you are piling in on it.
All he had to say is he wasn’t interested but he’s obviously decided to keep his options open. Shame I was sure he would take us up next season.

Of course Burnley is a better option. Six times the revenue, and there's a chance they could be in the Prem League next season.
But perhaps before today and certainly when the rumours started there was still a reasonable chance that we could have been swapping leagues with them in a few weeks which is why it doesn’t seem to make sense to me.

Tells me he knows he hasn't got much money to spend in summer and if he wants some money will have to sell Fry, Tav etc. He is on the look out for something better.

The Boro have a better chance of being in the prem next season, and we have no chance.

I was called a troll when we appointed him. I said he was a particularly vile individual. Now his off to Burnley and used us a stepping stone. I hope he nothing but bad luck the ugly tosspot

Same division. Owners who take a big slice, not liked by their supporters, no funds for squad strengthening. No they are not a better option as far as I can see. He would be mad to go there. It will be a terrible career move.

There has apparently been no contact. He’s talked about medium and long term at the Boro, and he’s said he’s focussed on us. What if Burnley come in and offer a few million in compensation and Gibson says he can talk to them as we need the cash? What if they stay up and tell him he’s got £100m to spend and offer him £100k a week.

All what ifs, and not worth worrying about. The situation had no impact on todays result, we were worse against Hull when Dyche still had a job.
