Fixed notice penalties off the Met police - party gate - for PM & Chancellor

If the PM received a fixed penalty notice for driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone, most people wouldn't care. But if he had given frequent press conferences imploring the nation's drivers to help save lives by respecting the 30mph speed limit, it becomes a different story.

And then factor in that he had repeatedly denied having broken the speed limit himself.

Or let his staff take the blame instead.

It’s interesting that Whilst boris spouts yet more lies and spin ( the gathering lasted only 10 mins long )

that there is complete silence from no 11

So Boris Johnson's only defence left to avoid clearly misleading Parliament is to state that he never knew he was breaking the rules...that they wrote.

Incredible.

So, it looks as though him and gnasher think it is perfectly ok to 'apologise unreservedly'.
This is the state of British politics. That a PM can break the law and expect to get away with 'sorry'
After the sleazy, tory, inbred, posh tw.at locked us down he was having pis.s ups in number 10.

It so infuriating. I hate him and his obnoxious, interfering, toothy bint so much.

I urge all of us who have a Conservative MP to Tweet or Facebook them and ask them as a constituent and as your representative in Westminster to condemn the actions of both Johnson and Sunak and call for their resignation, I also urge similar action to Steve Turner and ask him to carry out his election promise to disassociate himself from MP's and Ministers who have committed crimes whilst in office, the same with Ben Houchen, who was vocal in condemning those who did not full Covid regulations during the Lockdown. Use these mediums as a way of getting things on the public record and if they defend Johnson, highlight their hypocrisy. Passive opposition gets us nowhere.
It was done before your post - great minds 👍

I don’t think it has though yes I agree that’s what the tories want but I honestly still think the anger in the nation is too great for the news cycle to ignore it.
Me neither, Starmer will make sure this is kept newsworthy and a hot potato. Hopefully being a barrister he will be forensic with this matter as if he was prosecuting.

I think they will wait to see how the local elections go, and if they get a pasting then they might send some letters in to Graham Brady. They wont yet because of Ukraine.

I think this is why he's waited til due process is complete and he's now openly calling him a liar.

The question that needs to be answered is was Johnson aware of the fact he would receive a FPN before his trip to Ukraine?

Maybe Sunak is pondering the Ali G defence?
He did categorically say he didn't attend any parties and yet he's received a fine. Could it be a case of racial discrimination by the MET?
Yes, I'm clearly joking, but would it surprise anyone to see a Tory stoop so low?

Oh and the Met.
Why just now?
They provide security in and out of number 10 and knew/know exactly what went on.
And on and on.
14 parties under investigation.... with Boris in line for 4 fines.
Why didn't the Met act the first time the law was broken?

The right wing are trotting out the following I see

‘Are we going to fine all nurses who were have parties in staff rooms’

‘Just like all the key workers then; time to move on’

Cretins

"Is it 'cos I is American?"
