P&O Ferries suspends all services

From the mouth of Lord Frosty

"My Lords, we will unleash Britain’s potential as a world leader in the Future of Transport. And my RHF the Transport Secretary will shortly set out ambitious plans which include modernising outdated EU vehicle standards and unlocking the full range of new transport technologies. We also intend to repeal the EU’s Port Services Regulations - which is a very good example of a regulation which was geared heavily towards EU interests and never worked properly for the UK.

We will drive forward our work on Artificial Intelligence, where the UK is already at the forefront of driving global progress. We will shortly publish the UK’s first National AI Strategy, which will set out our plans to supercharge the UK’s AI ecosystem and set standards which will lead the world."

You reap what you sow.

I thought you had a great point, but I knew it must be wrong when Little Tory agreed.

No despite the LT handicap I agree with you.

What does 'like' mean. I worked in Spain for 12 years and Germany ( only for a few weeks) they are identical to the UK in their outlook, the others I have no experience in. But I cannot see any real evidence they are different.
In Spain and Germany there isn't the huge gap between the rich and poor that we have here and in the US.
In Germany a person can travel by rail from anywhere to anywhere on cheap clean state owned trains and integrated public transport. It's better for the environment and takes pressure off the roads. In this country neoliberalism dictates that London gets Germany standard infrastructure and the rest of the country can do without because there's not enough profit in it.
In Germany they still have some of the strongest trade union laws in the world. Every board of directors has to have a representative from the union and every idea or proposed change must be run past them.
I had this battle yesterday. What is the alternative to neo liberalism apart from rationing? You cannot stop people wanting to buy things.
You had this battle yesterday and then admitted that you didn't know what neoliberalism was. You thought it was just the ability to buy nice things. How on earth have you taken such a step back in one day?
I fully agree it's wrong, how do you re nationalise them?
The east coast line has been renationalised about three times. Every time it fails the government renationalise it, get it running properly and then sell it again. All you do is wait for the contracts to end and not renew them.

The Workers Council of Germany, I'm working with them now and yup, every single role change, organisational change and responsibility change must be ratified by them

Because they are floundering in ignorance

Some in fact most of that I agree with. Trains and buses could be renationalised tomorrow, I said this yesterday.

And then you write BS, Spain has shanty towns on the edges of some cities, the difference between rich and poor is far greater than here. You need to stop believing everything you read in Trotsky Today. Maybe go there, try a week in Benidorm.

I know what neo liberalism means as I read up on it, I never tried Trotsky Today though that's so passe.

Neo liberalism is today's buzz phrase of today's laughingly known Left. I know this as you and our anti British CtC use the term every day.

I also read the Labour party manifesto for 2019 and pretty much agreed with every word. It makes you wonder why people in the club I go to, for the record not based on religion, did not vote Labour for the first time, I was known as the left wing nut job. It's easy for people like you not to vote Labour, I can't do it.

On another note, the thread that was quite rightly removed, how is the apologist?

So it appears P&O is a contributor to the Tory party. Also the RMT union voted for Brexit.
Well I never.

It's not brexit though, no, nothing to see here, Brexit didn't enable this: It's the nasty EU, or the unions, or Emiratee employment law. The brexit refuseniks have spoken

Absolute BS. Yesterday you thought that neoliberalism meant that your family could get a phone and your brother a car in 1973. I had to point out to you that Thatcher didn't arrive on the scene till 79 and explain what neoliberalism actually was. You admitted you had gotten it wrong. Today you've taken a step back and are arguing that the choice is between neoliberalism and rationing. You think neoliberalism is today's buzz phrase when it's been going doing it's damage for 30 years and then you have the temerity to challenge the leftist credentials of others?
That is unfortunately true. It's why we are desperate for a strong Labour government.
Don't hold your breath.

He an English resident of France. There’s no such thing as EU visa. He would need a visa for each individual EU country. Hence one of the reasons why small-medium UK bands can’t afford to tour in the EU.
Visas cost money.
If he lived in France prior to Jan 1st 2021 then his rights are protected under the withdrawal agreement. I am in the same situation and still enjoy freedom of movement and visa free employment until the time when I reside outside the EU.

I’ll find out from him why his situation seems to be different.

That wasn't too difficult.

Spain have you tried Benidorm? You know the country without poverty. They all live in 6 bed villas over looking the sea. Sevilla (pronounced Se vee uh ) if it helps, has no poverty whatsoever none, it is such a lucky city.

You make stuff up. You really should check first, I told you I worked in Spain, back to Trotsky Today.

To stop you writing drivel again find attached the poverty levels for Europe Germany is pretty bad, I didn't know that, thanks for making me aware.

You are right about me holding my breath with you supporting Boris and his Burlington mates. Socialist my R se.

One thing I will give you is your consistency, every time you are fact checked it's proven you talk BS.

You can fact check this by going through your last dozen messages.
Stick to being a Putin apologist.

If your pal is an employee of a French company, and he is paid in France, and he lives in France, and he has been so since Jan 1 2021 then I think he can go to work on behalf of his company anywhere he wants in the EU.

You need help. Seriously you do.

Why do you make things up? If you are going to make a point be truthful. You are disproved continually.

No wonder people laugh at the so called Far left.
Stick to voting Tory.
