and orders the ships to stay in port awaiting an announcement, tickets are being transferred to rival operators. Sounds very bad!

We must have been on that ship 4/5 times.

At a rough guess then the cabin crews tips are far larger than their salary ?

Can't just be the Russian issue surely? Must be that combined with the decimation of the travel industry because of covid and also rising fuel costs?

They wouldn't do it if they didn't know they couldn't. If you hadn't noticed we re now in a hire and fire world. Employment rights are in the toilet.
An ITV Journalist is reporting that redundant staff are being replaced by agency. Those made redundant can reapply through the agency. Absolutely shocking.

No it’s not, it’s about protecting profits and shareholders and discarding staff to hide the fact that the exec’s who run the place, as with many other companies, are sh1t!!!
Shareholder Value Maximisation. It's a key part of neoliberalism and widely used in Britain and America. When people blame cheaper labour coming into the UK it wasn't because of the EU. It was about Shareholder Value Maximisation.

Those countries have not adopted neoliberalism like Britain and America though. The state still plays a bit more of a part in European countries. Brexit was about taking neoliberalism and making it even more extreme.

What does 'like' mean. I worked in Spain for 12 years and Germany ( only for a few weeks) they are identical to the UK in their outlook, the others I have no experience in. But I cannot see any real evidence they are different.

I had this battle yesterday. What is the alternative to neo liberalism apart from rationing? You cannot stop people wanting to buy things.

I am all for state intervention, utilities and transport should never have been privatised. What I don't know is how you get that cat back in the bag.
