Kurt Zouma using his cat as a football

I don't necessarily agree with their points regarding education, but think they're angling it more at some young players not having an education, and football being all they've ever known.

Or was it the comment, "we don't abuse animals in this country?" that you took offense to?
Kurt Zouma is 27 and has been working since he was 17 he’s lived and worked in France, London, Liverpool, Stoke..

‘Thogden’ a 20 year old youtuber

Far too much ‘OUR country’ stuff in there. Didn’t like it one bit.

Honestly can't believe people are saying this video wasn't that bad. If it was a kid he would be immediately cancelled and rightly so.

Animals do nothing to deserve this sort of treatment whatsoever, and I can never understand anyone doing this to an animal nor why anyone would try play it down.

I love animals, and I’ve had numerous pets which have been a part of the family, but I’d be a complete hypocrite to say I think an animals life is of equal importance to me as that of a human, and I think anyone who is not a vegan would be equally hypocritical to make that claim. But I can guarantee you up and down the country there will have been people pontificating about how Zouma should literally be strung up whilst stuffing their faces with meat produced at battery farms where animals are treat a thousand times worse than Kurt Zouma‘s cat.

Jesus, some of the stuff in this thread….. what the **** has Mason Greenwood attacking his girlfriend got to do with it? Eating meat?!? I mean come on! People are actually getting worked up because other people are angry about a man drop-kicking and slapping a defenceless family pet!
Just accept that some people find that behaviour disgraceful and think the individual should be punished.
The same people find abuse of kids, women, other men etc disgraceful too. You can be like that, you know? Being angered at the actions of Zouma does not mean you place less value on humans that are abused too! The mental gymnastics to get to that point are just nuts!

As said by dood above, what a weird hill to pick to die on. The mind boggles.

He’s had his cats taken away by RSPCA Great news
for a full veterinarian inspection
The RSPCA have taken his cats off him 👍
““We are so grateful to people who report suspected animal suffering to us and we would like to reassure people we will always look into and, if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare.”

GB News says he MAY HAVE ‘broken bones’

So he’s fined £250k, loses his sponsorship with Adidas, 150k petition to have him put in prison for 4 years.. all of this right. What happens if after the RSPCA check out the cats and find them to be perfectly happy, healthy and well looked after?

Should he still go to prison?

How can the cat be perfectly ok? Have you seen the video? A tiny animal being kicked by a man like that, of course it will have injuries and probably terrified for the rest of its life.

He should face some severe punishment but it’s obvious he has serious issues, no normal person would do that to any animal

That would be for the full veterinary examination to find out.

I have seen the video, he flicks a cat with his foot and then slaps a cat. I don’t think it’s a given that the cat(s) will have been injured or that they will be terrified for their rest of their lives.

Obviously if he has hurt the cat then the appropriate punishment should be applied. I think a £250k fine and losing his sponsorship deal is a pretty severe punishment for starters.

I think he should get 6 months and serve at least 30-60 days of that behind bars as a deterrent to himself and others.

I‘ve made clear that I think what he did was completely wrong, but I think the response is completely disproportionate. Somebody else on here literally said that it’s worse than what Mason Greenwood did. I mean really? Which would a person rather be accused of?
I also mentioned on here about meat, because there is so much hypocrisy when it comes to animals. Many people’s logic is very much along the lines of “it’s just as bad as If he did it to a child?” Which I again think is completely disproportionate. Especially by people who eat animals.
I’m not worked up, I’m not angry, I completely respect and understand peoples views on this. I just personally feel the reaction to it is way over the top.

If you've seen the video then I don't understand how you can characterize it as just a "flick." Use of that that term would suggest something much more benign than this actually was.

He drops the cat out of the air and then kicks it in the rib cage/hip area hard enough to propel it several feet across the room. While it's true that it's not possible to say whether the cat suffered any permanent damage without a full veterinary inspection, I think there was a decent chance that he could have caused some fairly serious damage to the cat's ribs.

Even if it turns out that it wasn't badly injured, that would be purely by luck rather than judgement.

Surely thats up to the sponsors, would you want to have your company associated with such a vile individual? Not hard to see why they are not wanting any involvement with him is it?

It's a good point about meat, people should be more interested and concerned about where their food comes from, but it's a separate issue. Zouma is personally responsible for the welfare of the cat, and has very publicly failed on that front.
Those responsible for animal walfare for food supply are the policy makers and enforcers of the relevant standards.

I've just watched a gamekeeper trapping and killing two buzzards. This happened in January 2021 and he was sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment suspended and fined £500 for each bird killed.

I can't believe what I've just watched there and to think it is happening on a regular basis country wide beggars belief.
What is wrong with these people ?

A severe punishment? Don't make me laugh! He's lost 2 weeks wages, but he'll still earn 50 weeks wages this year, i.e. £6.25m. He won't miss the £250k in the slightest.

As for Adidas deciding they don't want to be associated with an abuser of animals, well what did he expect would happen when he/his brother released a video of him physically assaulting a cat for amusement?

Zouma has quite literally received, thus far, the barest minimum punishment that he could reasonably expect. He hasn't even been dropped or suspended for a game, yet you claim he's faced a pretty severe punishment? Unbelievable Jeff!

You’re having a proper nightmare here. So I can come round and put your dog in a chokehold as long as I don’t injure it, that’s okay?

Maybe sponsors don’t want people who abuse animals, representing their brand? How is that severe?

“Flicks the cat with his foot” and “slaps a cat” are so disingenuous that I have to believe you have an ulterior motive. Although that has been blatantly obvious by some of the stuff you’ve posted in response.
