Johnson's BYOB Party Invitation 🤣

Could you copy and paste for us?
It was actually Saturday’s Times. Think I can share this.

As you read that article you have to remember Parris is an ex Tory MP and therefore he is defending the honour of some rather shady individuals themselves including Charles Moore but his rock bottom regard for Johnson has been defined a few times before this latest critique.

Before Boris they only had the bottom of the sewers to find a leader, once he's gone who on earth would they pick to replace him?
Truss appears to be one of the favourites Sunak another then you have Gove Patel and Raab.
Never been a more opportune time for Labour.... Starmer needs to step up and quickly.

He does need to step up but he doesn't need to do it that quickly. The Tories are eating themselves - its a slow death.

Gone a bit off topic but I'd still like to see with Raynor or Phillips at the helm, especially if they go for Truss.
Both would wipe the floor with her.

How does he exactly need to step up?

I don't get it. We have 2 years to a GE. Labour have no say over the Tory party that is imploding. Labour are all over the airwaves today angry about Johnson. They have tabled an urgent question (Raynor did - presumably cos Starmer is self isolating still). They will be roasted about it on PMQ's tomorrow. Labour are streets ahead in every poll.

I must be missing something obvious here.

He's rarely seen. Grabs very few headlines. Is too polite at the despatch box. He should be stood with his foot on Boris's throat. For these reason's he not cutting it for me. Massive oppostunties now to really ram home the unprecedented numer lies and disasters coming out of Downing Street but Boris is still there.

So he needs to be appearing to be more shouty in public basically?

Do you think that would increase Labours poll lead significantly? It certainly wouldn't make the Tories oust Johnson.

If he's rarely seen that's down to the media, he's out campaigning every day. The problem is some brexiters are so entrenched nothing will get them to turn against johnson, its similar to when trump said he could take a machine gun down manhatan and open fire and done would still back him.

It's about making Labour more high profile. It's about getting more vocal in highlighting the shambles we're seeing. It's about being more forceful.
I get that part of it is his support staff, but again that's down to him to sort out. When Blair was in opposition for 3 years he managed the opposition really well and his backroom staff worked flat out with the press.
We need to get more headlines. We rarely see headline quotes from Starmer in relation to these regular Tory fkups. He needs to do better.

See above, and how the media are managed.

Blair had the support of the media in a way Starmer never will. Media is also nothing like it was in the 90's, Labour simply do not have the platform to shout headline grabbing quotes everyday, that platform is largely controlled by the Tories.

I see more then enough from Labour as I follow politics, the average person will not due to the above until there's a general election.

Death of a thousand cuts for Johnson.
Totally calculated by Starmer and his backers.

Is it not a standard prosecution strategy to hand the accused the shovel with which they can proceed to dig their own grave? Drip, drip with a new accusation every time Johnson goes on record to deny something. Gradually he has painted himself into a corner from which it's hard to see him escaping. Are we due a poll of voting intentions? That would probably swing it for the tory back benchers.

Whoever they put up next will be a sacrificial lamb to preside over the downfall of this government. Truss would be hilarious - were it not for the fact that it's our home she would be trashing. It will be a long road back starting with acknowledgement and an apology to the nation.

In my lifetime I have seen us transition from the so called 'sick man of Europe' to the laughing stock of Europe. That's progress.

I've just opened Facebook News. Starmer is on the 2nd story after Johnson's parties. Open Twitter, it's wall to wall Labour sticking it to the Tories. Open Instagram. People outraged about Johnson.

They are doing exactly what you ask of them today. Working flat out with the press might be easier now Johnson is on the ropes but initially most of the newspapers backed Johnson and backed Brexit so they are not going to give labour much time. Like I said a few posts up - it's hard opposing a 80 seat majority. Labour have and have a really good poll lead which will only increase further after today. You could say Starmer's slow and steady is winning the day.

So what do we think Boris will do to get rid of the party story this week? Now we know it deffos was a party and he’s been proven to have LIED AGAIN in parliament.

They find another baby up his lasses vadge: 3/1

National lockdown: evens

Royal wedding: 10/1

He pulls off his face like a scooby-doo baddy and is revealed to be James Cordon: 66/1

66/1 Bar
