Scotland Wales and even NI all have a clear plan for the holiday period

I said earlier Zorro the big blonde haired buffoon is only doing what's best for the Tory Party.

He knows that if he introduces more restrictions in England those 100 back bench rebels will rip him apart.

I listen to Mark Drakeford and I wish he was in charge here.

Today’s figures show that the omicron is only 10% less harmful than delta.

How do today's figures show that?

Very few of the people that have died from Covid in today's figures will have died from the Omicron variant.

Imperial are inferring from recent data that it's 11% less likely to hospitalise the unvaccinated who have never had Covid before, and 30% less likely to hospitalise the vaccinated and those with prior immunity from infections.

But meanwhile in England…. Nada.

more confusion no plan at all and no one has a clue what will happen next.

how can this buffoon be allowed to continue.
Yes they've shut the football grounds and ruined hospitality over Christmas putting thousands of people out of work for a variant that the latest studies show is two thirds less harmful than whatever the last one was. Is that what you want to happen in this country??

The report says: "These early national data suggest that Omicron is associated with a two-thirds reduction in the risk of COVID-19 hospitalisation when compared to Delta.

"Whilst offering the greatest protection against Delta, the third/booster dose of vaccination offers substantial additional protection against the risk of symptomatic COVID-19 for Omicron when compared to ≥25 weeks post second vaccine doses is associated with a two-thirds reduction in the risk of COVID-19 hospitalisation when compared to Delta.

Which bit??
Well, I get that the daily case rate is frightening, but its looking positive in terms of severity. I'd prefer some caution on peoples livelihoods and mental health for a change. I can't stand Boris, but Drakefords announcement on fining people for going into the office is scary, I'm very glad he isn't running this country, I'm really stuck as to who I would want, but it certainly wouldn't be anyone I see in main stream politics at the moment.

The more I see on this, the more I think the following

Restrictions were understandable at first, but 2 years and nearly 130 million jabs later, we need to try and function as a society again, use masks, use jabs, but no more restrictions on peoples movements and social activities.

I do trust the scientists before I get shouted at. However I think their one goal is to stop covid, and other factors are not considered in a cost vs benefit analysis of the current situation.

People will suffer by opening society , but just as many if not more will suffer equally by not opening society. This is really tough. I have vulnerable parents, but I also have kids, one who is 5 the other who is 3 and now doesn't remember a time before all this. They have suffered considerably, kids and teenagers seem to have been forgotten and even criminalised throughout this.

Exactly Warwick, the people who shout the loudest for continuous lockdowns have lived their whole lives in relative freedom and received all the advantages that come with this. Yet they don't seem to give a second's thought about ruining our children's education and the best years of their lives.
