Care to explain that? The Boardmasters event kills off vaccine passports.
Certainly. You had to have proof of vaccination or negative test to enter. Everybody.Care to explain that?
As we know being vaccinated doesn't stop you catching it or carrying it (reduces those things)Certainly. You had to have proof of vaccination or negative test to enter. Everybody.
It still spread and caused a spike in cases in that part of the country.
It'll give people a false sense of security. Thus rendering them useless. But I'm sure some rich people will become even richer implementing them.As we know being vaccinated doesn't stop you catching it or carrying it (reduces those things)
Though actually I agree that the "Vaccine Passports" thing won't stop infection, it would reduce transmission.

I'm guessing the massive number of deaths is a B/H catch up figure. I hope...As of 9am on 1 September, 6,825,074 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the UK.
Positive cases were 35,693 (35,847 on corresponding day last week).
207 deaths were reported today (149 on corresponding day last week).
156,119 deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate (up to 20 August).
48,086,605 have had a first dose vaccination. 38,596 first dose vaccinations yesterday. 42,908,022 have had a second dose. 117,437 second dose vaccinations today.
Yes, it will be. Will be Friday before we know where things are.I'm guessing the massive number of deaths is a B/H catch up figure. I hope...
I have noticed a fall off in mask wearing where I live too. Initially most still wore masks, now it is below 50%.As I was up this afternoon I took the opportunity to do the weekly shop today rather than on my way home from work in the morning. The non-mask wearer's were definitely in the majority in Morrisons. I'm not sure that the messaging about case levels and the actual protection that the vaccine offers is reaching the wider public given that many seem to be behaving like the pandemic is over.
We seem to be stubbornly sitting at 30k+ cases per day (or over 200k new cases per week) and I don't think it's alarmist to think that those numbers will go up as the weather turns and we spend more time indoors.
Now with masks, I'm starting to think WTF am I doing trying to protect the folk that don't wear them, but then I just think well, at least I'm helping the other 50% of mask wearers.Definitely a fall off in mask wearing here. That's bound to lead to an uptick of cases
Funny you should say that. I've noticed that none of the staff at the swimming baths I take my daughter to for lessons are wearing them anymore. I've even seem police officers occasionally over the past few weeks in their cars/vans not wearing them either. You notice those not wearing them now a lot more than this time last year.I have noticed a fall off in mask wearing where I live too. Initially most still wore masks, now it is below 50%.
I don't particularly feel offended by someone not wearing a mask, I don't feel vulnerable. I wear my mask still, because I don't know how secure others feel in the shop I am going in to.
I suspect they're will be a tipping point where people will feel silly wearing masks because very few will be.Funny you should say that. My point been if we have the likes of police officers not wearing them or council staff then the general public aren't going to bother either. All our front of house staff at work wear a face covering whilst on shift (voluntarily may I add) as you don't want to upset anybody who may still be wary of things.I suspect they're will be a tipping point where people will feel silly wearing masks because very few will be.
