This feels like something you’d see in the developing nations

It's all to do with Covid. I heard tap tap that distribution Centres are at 60% staffing.

Or are we attacking staff for taking time off for covid.

So you do think food shortages are funny? That’s not a good look mate
But there aren’t any food shortages , there may be supply issues but nobody is going hungry because a few supermarkets are not full of all the usual trash. We have huge economic and social issues which need addressing but to make supermarket “shortages” an issue is nothing short of pathetic on your part……as per usual

Plenty of replies to be fair. Propel so desperate to defend Brexit they have to make jokes about us not being able to buy food. As I said, some people have reached a new low
Time for a reality check ST

you have stuck up one photo of a few empty shelves of cat food… that doesn’t indicate an impending shortage or famine in most peoples book.

Even the guardian disagree with you.

time to chill out a bit… you will live longer if you keep your BP down… you might also live long enough to see us rejoin the EU that you love so much

Omg. There’s not 6 different brands of tomato ketchup to choose from, how will we survive?

The country is not struggling to feed its people, there are temporary supply chain issues caused by numerous factors including but not limited to impacts from Brexit.

If people cannot adapt eating habits to reflect what’s on the shelves then we should be fearful for the human race when the effects of climate change on food production and transport become more obvious. We need to move to eating what’s in season and available rather than wanting what we want when we want.
Why should we adapt? Why can't we have what we had before? Why would we vote to make our lives worse? it doesn't make sense

It’s not one photo though is it. We’ve all seen it. I know some people pretend they haven’t because it suits their love of Brexit but we all know we’ve all seen empty shelves and food shortages. It’s just so poor that people will make jokes about it to defend Brexit. Very poor indeed

A lot of people on this thread using the I don’t see anything in my store so it can’t be happening elsewhere it must be scaremongering
And one or two are using the “there’s a few brands of cat food unavailable in my usual store so there must be nationwide shortages of essential food stuffs”.

Chances are the true situation lies somewhere in between.

But we do know how fussy cats are. If there are no Whiskas available then 9 out of 10 cats will go hungry.

It's not all to do with covid, though that's what brexiters would prefer to believe

I’m sure one of those who is convinced it’s Covid will be on here soon to explain how it’s happening hear and not happening in EU countries with a track and trace app and suffering Covid. It’ll be fascinating to hear the explanation
