Created a duplicate thread since this was hijacked by someone who seems to have lost the plot.





People talk a lot about democracy. Many seem proud of the democratic system in this country. I’m not. We aren’t functioning as a democracy and we haven’t been for some time.

If the things that have happened in the country (largely since 2016) were going on elsewhere those countries would rightly be labelled banana republics.

We are sleepwalking into really, really sinister and dangerous territory to which the majority appear to be blind if polls are anything to go by. Never before have we had a government made up of such an incompetent, negligent and corrupt bunch of spivs and charlatans as we have right now. We are treading an extremely worrying path here. Time to wake up.

The system hasnt worked for many years. All it does it serve those who are in power and their friends.
The public are too gullible to make many decisions as to who should be in power. Brexit was too complicated for the public to understand and everything is subject to spin and lies.
No one party represents my views, I would rather vote on issues rather than a party political system.
I would rather cast a vote for non of the above on a voting form, to register my disapproval.
