FAO ROB

Please Rob, when will you consider having separate sections on fmttm where Football only is a topic.
Politics is a topic.
Price of butter is a topic etc, etc.
There are far too many who post on here who don't give a fig about Boro or football.
Where do you stand ?
Why not just read the posts you're interested in and ignore the rest?

As has been discussed many times FMTTM is not just a football board - it's far more than that and (mostly) the better for it.

You do realise that the matchday thread only exists because people got fed up of having three pages of identical football posts to wade through every game.

The board works as it is and is better for the variety.

I'm all for variety, but why not have specific sections for football, politics, etc.
It works on other boards.

Fully agreed that the board would be better if the politics was separate, but it's not going to happen.

Think a more worrying problem are some of the attitudes on the political/Brexit threads towards other points of views. A good few members have called it quits after getting into arguments on none sporting threads. Btw I would have sub sections if put to a vote.

People are going to disagree mate. That's the nature of message boards. Some of the football threads can get just as brutal as the Brexit threads.

The best arrangement I've seen is on the Single Track World forum, it has 2 sub forums, one for mountain biking/cycling and one for everything else BUT you can choose to look at both combined OR each separately. I prefer everything on one page. Forums with loads of sub forums are a pain in the **** you need to trawl about to see if there's anything interesting.

Dead right - there are some very active posters who have never ever posted anything about Boro or football.
And that's part of the disruption they cause. They haven't got anywhere to go to discuss their preferred topics, or know they'll get ripped to bits if they went on a forum dedicated to those topics, so they come on here because of the traffic: to get attention, nothing else. Nearly every thread which descends into insults and argument away from the topic has one common denominator
