I can't speak for the States, but to the best of my knowledge there are no commercial flights from Spain to the UK, and haven't been for over 2 weeks - any flights have been repatriation flights

Would there still be ongoing repatriation flights from Spain?

I was going to say the same thing. However I have had a number of friends going back to the UK from Málaga. Early in our lock down. They said that they got no response from anyone when they landed. They all chose to go into isolation without being asked. Thank goodness.

Ryanair are not cancelling all their flights. I understand that they are still running some flights. For repatriations.

We have one we are due to take in less than 5 weeks with Ryanair. That is not yet cancelled. With out BA return flight later in May already cancelled.

So I am not sure what is happening at the moment.

FatCat, seeing as you're defender of everything fair and just can you please explain why you posted so much ridiculous anti-Labour, anti-Corbyn and anti-Abbott rubbish on the old board? Or is just and fair treatment of politicians only applicable where they wear your favourite coloured rosette?

And in terms of things being just and fair do you honestly think she should be allowed anywhere near a role as MP never mind a significant role in the cabinet given her previous with hush hush meetings and her refusal to appear in front of a select committee for so long?

The Daily Mail and Daily Express were asking where she was and why she had not addressed the country given her role in one of the Great Offices of State and the importance of lockdown which her department is responsible for, I think that’s reasonable and her absence of course will cause people to speculate on why she appears to be hidden from the public gaze, nothing to do with Brexit that I can see.

And the other side some people aren’t objective and can see no wrong in what the government do which is equally obstructive and unhelpful.

Like I said, to the best of my knowledge - I guess this will be one of very few exceptions. Malaga airport has had no commercial UK flights in or out for the last 2 weeks according to their status updates. I believe cargo flights are still operating

This is Spanish airspace just now - the planes in Madrid are on the ground

Edit - the big" plane heading over Bilbao is an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Washington to Addis Ababa :oops:

Very much is the point I’m making and for about the 4th time you’ve got nowhere near addressing, so instead of incorrectly second guessing why not answer the issues that have been raised ?

In fact, given his belief that the right wing media, such as the Express and Mail, have it in for the government, he’s surely got to be one of these wind up characters here purely to generate bites and traffic? Hence his remainders comment earlier.

fabio, I can be one of the most objective posters on here - I am more than happy to say when the gvt are wrong. Given I have not once mentioned any newspaper it shows your lack of understanding when you arrive at “the right wing media have it in for the government “ I simply NeVER said that - you did, American Mary did - I never did, FACT.

FatCat you’re having an absolute ‘mare here. Firstly, you mentioned a concerted media campaign against her earlier in the thread.

Secondly, your claims to be objective are completely undermined by your odd defence of her when you seem to ignore any criticism of her. She is an absolute liability and should be nowhere near the cabinet. Not that the less informed would realise as she’s not exactly all over the media as she probably should be given her cabinet position.

Finally, can you please respond to my post where I specifically asked you a question about her suitability for a role in cabinet and indeed as an MP?
 
It was reported on Thursday that she'll be leading the briefing today. So, tune in at 5pm . . . .
 
I am so glad I pushed the Ignore Button on Fatcat. I no longer have to read his drivel. I would advise all posters who recognise that it is pointless to waste your time on discussing anything with him to do the same.

Possibly FPP but I always like to encourage debate and the one thing I’ve got in abundance at the moment is time on my hands, to be honest I wasn’t sure what he was getting at as there seemed very little correlation to the points made and the replies given, beyond that no one should question why at the height of the greatest crisis to hit these shores in years the Home Secretary had been conspicuous by her absence and if you did you were part of some bigger movement to undermine the Government which included media outlets that traditionally have shown bias towards Johnson and his team.

Oh and do not put words into my mouth here is your post 22 where you clearly state ‘it will be a a concerted campaign led by the press’ there’s an old saying when you’re in a deep hole to stop digging so I suggest you put the spade away and consider your responses on this thread which aren’t showing any consistency, not a lot of cogency and veer from mildly paranoid to an outright falsehood.
