If we were not allowed to go to the park the park would be shut.Am I missing something ? Ive not left my home for a fortnight and did today to get my jab and there was a huge traffic jam around Preston Park . On eventually passing , it was packed in the car park and on the length of Yarm Road it was full of gangs of people ambling along with none with their masks on .
I’m certain we were told to carry on soldiering on only going out when we absolutely had to . A bit of sunshine and it’s “ ahhh won’t do any harm as we’re just about there “
How was he being disrespectful?I am attending a funeral next week by video link for a friend that travelled back across the world for cancer treatment and then got COVID in hospital and died in that Teesside hospital. He was separated from his wife, who had trouble getting a visa she did not finally see him until his final few hours.
The guy in question was an absolute stalwart of the music scene here for many years, the life and soul of gigs and lived for his garage, soul and alternative sounds.
Sheriff - show some respect will you please. There are 100 000 stories like this from the past 12 months.
People are allowed to go to the park, beaches etc only for exercise and they should still be following the guidelines of social distancing, not travelling long distances and not meeting up with people except in their bubble. If we were not allowed to go to the park the park would be shut.
What a depressing read the first page is
visiting the beach or the park is allowed. None of you know how far people travelled to visit. Give it a bloody rest, god forbid people think about their mental well-being or having some time getting some vitamin d whilst operating within the law
How on earth do you know people are with their cousins?I don't think anyone has an issue with people getting out for a walk or exercise in the park or the beach as long as they are sensible whilst there.
The problem is the there are so many that whilst there display such irresponsibility. I've witnessed huge families, grandparents, kids, grandkids, greatgrandkids, cousins all walking around the park together in huge groups. Then there's the sheer ignorance of other people with no attempt to social distance. If you see other people move away, control your kids as best you can to keep them away from people's personal space.
We've tried to visit parks early on a morning and then we leave when it starts to fill up with more people. If we go there later on in the day and it's too busy we go somewhere else as the risk is too great.
He doesn't but he will have, as I have, seen large groups of people all together not practicing any of the social distancing rules or complying with the rules about who you are allowed to meet up with. How on earth do you know people are with their cousins?

As long as you follow the rules! So we can go to the park and not worry about people making strange assumptions about cousins then?
Haha He's a Cousinist...So we can go to the park and not worry about people making strange assumptions about cousins then?
Block if people are driving to a beach or to a park (evidenced by the sight of Preston Park car parks being rammed this weekend) then they are clearly not walking or exercising in their locality. That's all posters are saying. And you're right, a return to normality is not far off but the phased dates are in place for a reason. Everyone needs to be patient and think of the promising medium to long term and not be seduced by one sunny weekend in FebruaryUnbelievable some of the ***** written on this thread. What on earth is wrong with going to the park or beach for a couple of hours to get some exercise and fresh air? Yes people all have the same idea but there is nothing else to do and people need to entertain their kids and even for their own sanity. I really am getting sick of the doom and gloom on here now, people are far to miserable. We’re on our way out of this now so cheer up a bit man. The return to normality isn’t far away ffs.
Parking at Newton under Roseberry is a joke yet again. Made the mistake of coming back home that way after picking the kids up. Police don't care as they've been told multiple times by multiple people.Yep. We've only got a paved back yard at my house. 10 metres by 2 metres.
"Go on kids do run some lengths of the yard, it's south facing so at least you'll be warm".
Kids are at the grandparents tonight ase and the missus are both at work. When I pick them up tomorrow I'll be taking them up the grassy hills of Great Ayton for our usual walk.
Had this actually been clarified?.
Staying in your local area means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.
No it hasn't been clarified nor adhered to, see the PM and his bike ride for instance.Had this actually been clarified?
Plenty of cyclists out and about today for example. They all ain't riding round the block are they?
