Pubs - last service to be re-opened

Which it won't.

The big chains will be licking their lips.

What a massive shame for the independents and the micropubs.

Utterly deflated with the schedule that's leaked.
There's no doubt about that but let's be honest here, when did the Tories not base their decisions on their funders wishes.

Outdoor sports, April?! Rubbish!!

Golf and tennis should be allowed now.

Playgrounds are packed with parents close to one another. Doesn’t make sense.

Can play both in Scotland though. Must play those sports differently up there which somehow makes them less of a risk.

This apparent lockdown is complete joke, drove through Seaton Carew today, big queues at all chippies, kids play park packed, ice cream van with queue, yet other businesses are being crippled.
It's not lockdown affecting figures it's vaccine numbers, things should get back up and stock businesses going bust.

Never played golf in my life but if any sports need social distancing to operate that's it

For me, with the correct planning, ie bookings etc, golf clubs should be opening now

The whole of hospitality should be open; how places like The Range can be open as essential is a joke and shows the government were not strong enough. They should've made them close apart from selling essential items such as food- the fact you can go in and buy bedroom furniture or mirrors makes a whole mockery of the lockdown.

There will be elements of lockdown for the next 15 months at a minimum, Johnson is using vague language that he can add some Latin phrases to explaining why no lockdown doesn’t mean no lockdown.

Presumably they’ve leaked some of the plan again to see what reaction it receives before finalising it. Is it the 4 potential dates range mentioned previously, with best case May, worst case August and 2 mid summer scenarios?

It absolutely should not be.

We've still got very high case numbers even with lockdown, presumably through significant non-compliance, cases will shoot right up if everybody was also hanging out in pubs and restaurants.

How much has hospitality caused spikes and cases? It's around 4% they think and a huge number of places spent a fortune putting in specific areas, fogging and the like to be closed. It's an utter nonsense that they are closed and non essential retailers are making a killing.

The "support" offered to hospitality is pathetic. Should be break even in my opinion, as in other sectors. Government is restricting income whilst failing to ensure ongoing viability of the sector.

All off the back of evidence of transmission which is flawed at best.

Why? Because people will socialise?
Once the vulnerable have been vaccinated there is absolutely no reason why the hospitality industry should stay under restrictions or closed until July.

Give me one reason why it should be.
