We have no cover for right back. Spence needs to be pushed further up the pitch. plus if we have a central defender injured. Dijksteel can come inside. Two players for the price of one right back £300k this is a George Friend level signing for me. Great stuff.

Sub £500k signing with solid consistence above average performances over a season. 26 years old too a great age.

These are the sorts of players that fly under the radar, the George Friend's the Sam Morsys exceptional at doing the most important work in the team, they go unnoticed because they do their job very well and without fuss. These types of players normal stay at their clubs for years on end because no team in their right mind would just let their contract run down.
 
Just read he's been PNEs first choice right back for 3 years. So very champo experienced.

I read a bit from Alex Neil saying it was very important they sorted a new deal. He's clearly one of the players out of contract who he wondered whether to buy. You can include Mowett / Juke / Morrison as other possibilities.

makes sense really. no point trying to reinvent the wheel. I don't think he's been too keen on the players put forward by our recruitment team. the international defenders who couldn't defend and even 'the jewel' who at least looked good but would take to long to adjust and acclimatise to the championship. he knows the league inside out and knows exactly what is needed to progress and get results. he not trying to have anyone's eyes out here, we don't have the time or the resources to gamble.

Must say, I don't know a thing about this Darnell Fisher .. but reading reactions on Twitter and on here, most of it seems to be positive or at least encouraging and I trust NW's judgment completely. If he signs and gets our numbers up, responds well to in training, I'm happy.

Haven't been reading on any other links but getting in more than one player I didn't expect this window, not even one to be honest. Sounds like Neil may be a bit of a happier gadge in a day or two .. I certainly hope so. UTFB X

I'd be well shocked if we managed to bring him in as well as Bolasie and this Fisher lad 😂

If someone like Diedhiou came in, I'd hope it would get Britt and Chuba to start upping their game significantly. Obviously, three new good signings like that though, can't just plant them all in the squad from the off on matchdays ... will be work to do and NW will make sure when they're ready to gel with the other crucial lads in the side.

I hope we manage to pull this off to be honest, even if it is just a rumour haha!

Got until Monday is it to finalise deals??? Can't say 'deadline day' without Jim White's voice in my head and MC Hammer track in the background, the one where some genius did the remix of White saying 'Deadline day!!' instead of 'Can't touch this!!'
