Mason Mount

I don't like Mount you are correct. That's my opinion. If he played for Crystal Palace for example he'd be nowhere near the England First XI.

Isn't it strange how as soon as Tuchel comes in the first team he picks has the likes of Mount, Zouma, James on the bench?
Why do you try to make out that if he was playing at a lesser club he's be overlooked when Southgate picks players like Pope, Philips, Mings, Cook, Wilson, Rice, Ward-Prowse, Coady, Ings, etc?

Mount is a quality young English player. Similar to Foden at Man City, these young lads at big clubs with big squads will get rotated - that’s life but not being selected in the new boss’s first team doesn’t mean he has no future at the club. He will play more games than he misses this season. Top quality player IMHO

Maddison doesn't play deeper for Leicester at all. What on Earth are you talking about? He literally plays behind Vardy as an attacking midfielder. Neither Grealish and Maddison play the same position Mount does. Mount isn't playing ahead of either for England.
Have a look at the last game and tell me where he played. He played deeper in midfield.

Not fit to lace Foden's boots.

One of the reasons why Lampard was replaced was because he wasn't getting the best of the expensive signings which the club had 'invested' a lot of money in. It's no coincidence that the new man speaks German and part of his remit is to get the big singings playing to their potential.

I don't think Lmpard would have been given the job had it not been for the transfer embargo and he relied on some of the clubs young players as an alternative - very successfully most people would say.

Mount has been probably their best player this season and isn.t Abraham the top scorer so far?

He has been the best player for Chelsea and will be back in the team soon enough. I agree Abraham is not top 4 but he is a premier league striker.

No he didn't play deeper in midfield at all. He played as an attacking midfielder, which is what he is and where he's always playing for Leicester. You're posting absolute b***ks to put it mildly.

I agree entirely with your sentiments about Mount. Still not sure what he is and what his strengths are. Southgate loves him as he was identified by England from very young age and does seem to a project

What worries and frustrates me slightly with these young English players is they don't seem to be able to nail down a regular position. Mount and Foden are examples of this. They get played as central midfielders, no 10s, out wide.

I know it seems to be the way football has gone to an extent - players are expected to be more versatile these days but in a way I miss the days when if you were a central midfielder you'd play in central midfield.

Mount has started 24 games this season. For Foden it's 19. In teams that play matches almost twice a week, you don't think they're playing regular?

Mount is as regular as Chelsea players get?!

Have a look at the game; he played deeper watch his interview afterwards. You're the one talking b*llocks. :)

What part of him being an attacking midfielder are you just not understanding? Mount is no threat to Maddison, or Grealish when it comes to being selected for England. They're not the same sort of player vying for the same position.

And look where Maddison is a playing tonight.

Mount was their best player when he came on. Been quality this season. Be interested to know how much football those slagging him off on here actually watch! Looks well ahead of Havertz in his development.

Don't be silly. Havertz when he settles in will be world class. He's had covid and is struggling at the moment.
