To All The Tory Voters

The only difference in the two parties manifestos at the last election for tax was re: the amount people on over £85k have to pay. Fair enough if that's you but it's not exactly indicative of Labour not being the party of "the working man" is it?

The Labour manifesto also didn't have any policy change on inheritance tax. They did commission some research paper look at changing the threshold before you pay a tax. From memory it was something like changing the tax free limit from ~£1m to ~£350k.

Not sure why anyone would be sarcastic about the policy nationalising the internet. Surely that, more than anything, has been proven to be a good idea by the events of 2020. The four extra bank holidays, the pay rise for public sector staff, bringing back collective bargaining for trade unions - if these aren't "working man" policies, what are?
Labour were going to introduce 40% tax on inheritance of over £125000.
Labour did increase VAT in 1974 under Denis Healey.

I voted Tory and do not regret it as Labour stopped representing the working man years ago . They are now all about appeasing WOKE , Political Correctness and any other " trendy fad " that happens to be popular at the time. They could not even decide over Brexit.
Tories are far from perfect but are still a million miles more electable than Labour
Worst possible leader at the worst possible time.
You say Labour don’t represent the ‘working man’...my god the Tory never have, never will and simply don’t care about the working people of this country - and they don’t care that they don’t care! Labour may not be perfect but they at least make the effort to represent the masses. Just for the record the masses include women - oh and minority groups. You see that’s what the masses are made up of - see video

Ultimately people can decide to vote Tory or Labour or whoever and will have their reasons; however I look it as if I was in a position where I need support due to God forbid losing a job or home or illness which party would be the best to support me or anyone else in that situation and the clear answer is anyone but the Tory party. I know someone who had voted Tory all their lives on the idea that people on benefits get everything; he lost his job and ended up on a pittance and has changed his mindset completely. He said unless you're in that situation you cannot possibly understand and the media don't give a true reflection of what is going on.

Tbh Erimus while not Hard left myself I detest Tories and always will, I'm no different to majority of posters on here as it it mainly a left wing board, you always seen to dislike me posting against Tory apologists.
It's one thing to disagree with any poster's view but I can't see the point in the name calling purely because somebody has different opinion - it's one of the reason's why this board has become a haven for the left and far left - anybody not agreeing with their views is automatically a "insert derogatory name-calling as applicable"

It goes both ways. There are plenty of examples when the hard right on here have stooped to name calling and pettiness. I know because I was on the receiving end.

If you're genuinely offended by a stranger calling you a "toss pot" on the internet, how do you function in daily life?

I wouldn't dispute that and it's wrong which side slings the mud - however , in my opinion, this board has, politically, become heavily left of centre and it doesn't make for constructive debates - those in which posters of any persuasion can feel comfortable contributing to.

Because the majority I have read have been fair minded & will go into detail why they think that person, or persons, have chosen the wrong party, which is there choice, you have name called a selection of people, for what, they chose different to you
That's the bit I don't understand & is out of order & I will always call you out over it

If a member of your family voted Conservative woukd you call them such, I doubt very much

Very well thanks - there again getting called a toss pot by some stranger on this forum doesn't worry me too much - it normally shows that they have run out of anything constructive to say - plus there are a some things that might well genuinely offend me
Anyway - I think the term was directed at Tory voters and I've never actually stated on here what my political views are so it may well be immaterial on a personal level

It's not a case of been offended, it's a case of been adult about it
I respect people on here as I would someone in a pub, at work or at the match, or do you think it's normal to talk to folk as such
