They'd just transfer their hatred to 'cheap immigrant labour' who 'cheated me out of my job'.It gets so that you hope they get laid off and find out what it's like.

I was just looking at the Gazette and seen this wonderful comment from one of its readers. He needs to hang his head in shame.

So now Middlesbrough council decides to fritter away the £3 grand a year I pay in council tax. If you can't afford to feed your own kids don't have them.
Er no FatCat that is not what she is saying. So much so that she took down the original post and then issued a half-hearted apology. Her North Devon constituents are giving her hell on Facebook. Almost 1,500 comments on her 'apology' post."I am delighted our local businesses have bounced back so much after lockdown they are able to give away food for free, and very much hope they will not be seeking any further government support."
I don’t know whether something is lost because this is written so you have no tone but surely she is saying she is delighted that businesses are doing so well they have money for food and in the same way you would say to your dr I hope I don’t see you again , she is simply saying that she hopes the businesses continue to do well that they don’t need to seek more assistance - thats the obvious way to read it - I’m obviously in the minority but what do you think she meant by it?
I haven’t seen the post - so are you suggesting she was being sarcastic?Er no FatCat that is not what she is saying. I honestly didn’t read it that way- to be honest given that I don’t think there is anyone that agrees with the government on this issue then she would do well to keep quiet. No not at all. She was issuing a thinly veiled threat to local businesses who were coming together to support their own community suffering real hardship and uncertain futures. 'If you can afford to give food away for free then don't bother asking for any more government support'.

She had a chance to clarify this in her statement instead just said ‘I’ve been taken out of context’ then did not provide the context."I am delighted our local businesses have bounced back so much after lockdown they are able to give away food for free, and very much hope they will not be seeking any further government support."
