More meanness and bile from The Nasty Party

somebody said” My wife works in social and is aware what some people get and I’ll be honest it works out quite a lot in some cases”

I’m trying to say in response to that it doesn’t necessarily mean that what the parents get doesn’t always equate to the kids being fed which is what everyone on this thread wants.

So maybe the answer is to have half term clubs where kids can come for food.
They exist in normal times. But older folk volunteers are the main reason a lot aren't happening.

FatCat why do the likes of yourself and Cooper naturally assume that all parents given benefits for their children spend it on booze and fags?

What evidence do you have that this is indeed the case?

I'm sure a small minority do but with one senseless statement you tar all parents with the same brush.

I'm guessing you're not a parent yourself.

It's all they have. They keep perpetuating this myth to justify to themselves that feeding our nation's children and caring for their welfare is wrong.

God is he still posting about me. Dont think i have ever stated that I believe all Parents given benefits for children spend it on booze and fags.

Oh by the way I have said on more than one occasion I support the free meals for school children.

Keep perpetuating them lies though.

Funny how some who complain on here feel it ok to just say anything they like without anything to back it up

I haven't blocked Cooper so I still see the ***** he regularly posts.
His negative views are well documented.

read the thread Vronsky, no one has said anything of the sort!

It doesn’t matter to some. Ask for an actual quote of you saying that and will soon go quiet. Thats what I find happens

The free meals for poor children is I think a temporary fix. As has already been discussed, many parents have taken a financial Covid-19 hit that there is no way for them to cope with and they need help, which we really shouldn't even be debating.

The wider question for me is about why so many of our fellow citizens are working for poverty wages in insecure jobs. This really now should be addressed, but sadly almost certainly won't be. The fact that these people are in such wide abundance while many of the richest, most successful companies pay little or no tax answers the question for me. It's not that we cannot feed the poor and voiceless, more that we cannot satisfy the rich and powerful.

It's not just the mega international companies that should be scrutinised..
How many companies employ people on such low wages that they are entitled to benefit?
How many of these companies pay dividend to shareholders?
How many ordinary ordinary tax payer are therefore subsidising these dividends by making up the wages of their employees.???
Or, as another thread clearly indicates, how many of us are also funding gifts to the Tory party when these firm's employ people on benefits due to low wages????

We’ve had eat out to help out here’s the bee Tory go to slogan.
starve a kid to save a quid.

saw this on Facebook earlier thought I would share.

You what frightens me more than anything in life. More than angry bees. More than forgetting to browse in ‘Private’ mode when I visit certain websites of a specialist nature. More even than Covid-19, Long Covid, and the inevitable Super b****d Mega Covid that is sure to emerge in early 2021 as a result of the ever-growing anti-masker movement’s influence. It’s the responsibility of providing for people who depend on me and the knowledge that like anybody else we are only a few, or even one single unexpected event away from it all going horribly wrong.

Even when things are alright, just having this thought at the back of my mind can be overwhelming and I’m pretty sure that there are loads of people that must feel this way. Worse still, now more than ever there are parents out there who aren’t just imagining what it could be like - they are experiencing it.

Contrary to what you’re seeing and hearing from so many different people, these aren’t all terrible monsters who prioritise 20 Silk Cut, a bottle of Smirnoff, a ‘fix’ and a Sky subscription over their kids’ wellbeing. They are bearing the brunt of the economy going to **** because of the global situation. They are experiencing the ‘zero hours’ element of ‘zero hours’ contracts. They are escaping abusive relationships where the alternative to financial hardship for themselves and their children could literally be life-threatening. They are dealing with cancer or another serious illness. They are generally doing the best that they can and having to deal with the crushing reality that it simply isn’t good enough.

What I’m trying to get at with all of this lefty-wefty, bleeding-hearted, like, share and comment-grabbing virtue signalling, and I say this with the highest amount of respect to you all out there in Facebookland, is that if you are even considering posting one more comment along the lines of ‘can’t feed them, don’t have them,’ please turn your smartphone sideways and stick it so far up your balloon knot that onlookers will believe that Samsung have gone into the gumshield business.

I’ve said it in a previous thread but would it not be possible for the government to provide food vouchers in universal credit to be used solely for food only

That is what was done to cover the fsm over the holidays and it seems like it was well received so surely it would make sense to include these as part of the universal credit provision to those eligible

Very eloquently put, my friend!
