remember the Boro Bugler ... tad embarrasing wasnt it
I always find it bizarre that Everton and Watford come out to Z Cars. A TV theme tune!!! Why?!?The worst run out tune is local hero. It sounds like some godawful 80s soap opera theme.
It was Power Game followed by Simply the Best. Great combo.I always find it bizarre that Everton and Watford come out to Z Cars. A TV theme tune!!! Why?!?
Didn't we used to run out to Simply The Best for a bit? I started going in 1989 and I'm sure they used to run out to it early 90s. Am I making that up?
I’m pretty sure Sunderland did in the eighties as well.I always find it bizarre that Everton and Watford come out to Z Cars. A TV theme tune!!! Why?!?

The boys are back in town was used occasionally, which I think should replace Pigbag.
No, we didn't start using Pigbag until 1996Wasn't pig-bag voted in with the stadium name competition? I'm sure I remember it was the best of a shocking list of early 90's songs
Are you sure? No, we didn't start using Pigbag until 1996
Here's proof that you're wrongDefo played pigbag v Chelsea 95.
I don’t think fans started clapping and singing along until Oxford promotion game as it was played after the first goal went in. Everyone went mental
Thanks very much for bringing me evidence that I am right. Here's proof that you're wrong
It *might* have been played as part of the buildup, as the song was officially released in January 1995 and went straight into the Top 10, back when that was actually an achievement.
Also we played Reach Up as our runout music against Oxford United so probably introduced it before then

And the Power Game is a tv theme tune. At least Z cars was set in Liverpool, which gives Everton some justification. The Power Game was set in London.
So nearly correct in every detail. My memory is pants, but I seem to recall late 80's/1990 Cambridge away, they ran out to 'Yes, We Have No Bananas'.
I was admittedly, a bit tipsy so who knows...
Yes - clapping along like a performing seal is wonderful i findI find Power Game absolutely terrible Pigbag is so upbeat and really gets the crowd going.
