GIBSON'S GOT WHAT HE WANTED. . .

I look forward to a link proving that this is what Gibson actually wants given your emphatic and shouty thread title.. along with details and a financial breakdown showing what would need to be spent on both the ground and squad and how this would also be a bad thing.

Alternatively you can just admit you’re a little bit butt hurt that this season isn’t panning out as well as you hoped and you’re just having a little tantrum.

Give over man 🤣 I’m a big critic of SG sometimes for the numerous mistakes he’s made over the years but there’s no way he wants us to fail - i think he’s ready to make a big push this summer now we’re in a better position with wages and FFP
I didn't say he wants to fail, that would be relegation, he just doesn't have the cash to make a big push for promotion. Our squad is not good enough and our recruitment seems to be on a tight budget.. To get promoted you need to invest in good quality players, unfortunately good players are overpriced

I think wel be investing money in the summer . Consider the £6.5m striker we missed out on plus money from the crooks and rogers deal , we should have a a decent amount to bring players in .
McNair and McGee leaving also freeing up funds and hopefully bringing a bit in

Gibson simply doesn’t have the resources to “force” promotion like some fans want.

Every season we are throwing a dart. We hit a treble 20 in 2016, and we will one day again. But it won’t really happen through skill we can’t afford to buy, more like luck.

Thats the reality we are promotion outsiders based on the clubs finances.

Ever heard of financial fair play?

A village is certainly missing an idiot this evening.

I'm sure multi-millionaire Gibson is delighted he's missed out on the millions that come from getting to the PL, even if you get relegated by August.
I'm living in the real world and people need to take off the rose tinted glasses, Promotion was the target this year ( and the previous 6)
Yet our signings were never going to be good enough for a promotion push this year. No reinvestment for the team from players sold, just keep the money to reduce the debt.
Where did the £160 million (ISH) go the last time we got promoted?

It's been clear as day since the summer we needed another striker and a back up for Jones on the wing. Scott had months to plan to sign someone in janaury. Yet we sell Rogers for 8+ million and they is no reinvestment. Shows a lack of ambition to achieve anything this season
We’ve given up this season selling Roger’s was a huge white flag to the rest of the league. Did sunlun sell Clarke or Bellingham of course not

The crowd today was clear to see why bother if the club isn’t.

It will only get worse now as we’ve got 4 months to tread water.

Probably on reducing the debt.

Most of the clubs in the championship don’t have much money. Outside of those that come down each season and those that have parachute payments we are consistently one of the bigger spenders. It’s the fact we haven’t spent well or had the wrong managers that have led to constant failures. Handing Monk more money to spend than any other Boro manager in our history is a prime example of the poor decision making at the top. We have now slowly worked out way back to a position where we have lowered the wage and got rid of most of the high wage players we had. We have also got ourselves into a good position with FFP with some big money sales over the past few seasons, which means we definitely have room to “have a proper go” so to speak this summer. I think that is now the aim for the club - this is where we are now.

Today, I sat with my nephew in the lower west as opposed to my usual seating. The upper west. I could not get over the whinging and moaning of 3 'supporters' sat nearby. Constant criticism of the team and club ownership, talking as if we have millions to go out and spend and asking where the money from Tav, Spence and Rogers has gone. It took all my restraint not to remind these tards about FFP and the stance the club's owner has taken in respect of others who flagrantly breach these rules.

I am guessing they only came along in the glory years of premiership football... Which isn't their fault but you'd think they bothered to learn the history of the club and understand what a bad owner actually looks like!

A lady nearby took issue with them when they started booing Barlaser and shouting for the referee to send him off... With fans and experts like these I declined to listen to the BBC Tees moan in for the first time this season...

This was always going to be a transitional year given what we lost in the close season and I am certain the club are planning for next season with the Crooks MLS move and the sale of Rogers, as let's be honest it was a great deal for a player of his present standing. If his sale keeps the club on the right side of FFP, I will be happy with that and trust the club to bring in the right players for the club and our wage structure. Let's face it we have paid fortunes for mercenaries in the past and suffered the consequences which the chairman has had to deal with.

I'd rather be where we are now than where we were in May 86 or May 93.
