I’ve not run a poll, but there is one on this thread that might contradict your 1% claim

Anyway that is not my point, we need to be able to bring in top young talent and that talent isn’t thinking that Boro is their end game. I wish it was but until we are back to 2005/2006 highs we are not in that league. We will bring in the right players at this level in the same way Brighton bring in players at their level by selling them the story also their development potential and by living by it. Most envy Brighton, but they (Brighton) also accept the reality, they sell to keep progressing and survive it’s no different for us, just read our accounts

You'd need a sample size more than the average face cream ad 😂
There was 20 odd k at the ground today, if more than 200 thought we should sell him for 4- 6 million today , I'll eat my hat.
10 to 12 ( minus his fee and the 20% sell on fee ) is worth a think , half that is a pointless exercise today.

Seriously if he was worth that much how come we signed him for £1.5m a few months ago?

Ask Jamie Vardy , or Gyokeres, Mason Mount , Harry Maguire, lewis Wing or Djed Spence , or bit coin .

Of course he's not worth 30 million today, but he could be worth that inside 2years.
He's currently worth more to us , today , than a 3 mill profit.
If you can't see that , then that's on you really.

Ok, I’m biting on this. (I’ll accept the ridicule and it’s purely on your fee assumptions ) forget the person, if you had £1.5m in August and you could exchange today for £3m minimum and rising based on some criteria would you not take it? Double your money in 6 months? L

He is not a loan. He was bought for the future to improve our team. He is under contract for another 3 and a half years. Keep him and see where we are in 2 and a half years time. (y)

That's not the situation though is it?
It's more like you have a Lancia Delta Integrale that needs some work doing on it and someone offers you double what you paid for it. You think that if you do the work needed then you can make a lot more plus, if you sell it you need to find a replacement.

Personally..
Yep ..

In terms of the current options within squad .. Absolutely nope in the main for anyone who has started this year who is under 28.

We'd struggle to replace , in my opinion, all the below for equal wages , and only x3 their transfer fee coming in .

Rogers
Dieng
RVDB
Fry*
Clarke
Bangura
Hackney*
Barlaser
Jones
Coburn*

Maybe...
Mcgree
Forss
Engel
Azaz

Definitely could do better for treble the money
ELL
Silvera
Greenwood ( if we bought him for 1.5 )

Obviously anyone * cost nowt , but shows how ' simple maths ' doesn't work with the intricacies of ' profit '

If you ever get the opportunity to run a boozer , can I suggest you don't buy spirits 😉

If City have a sell on clause then you need to add whatever that is to our valuation.
Rogers has a lot of potential and 3.5 years left on his contract so he should not go cheaply.
I'd tell them £25m and see how serious they are.
Or we also insist on a sell on ourselves.

I can see him going for £10m plus add ons/ a sell on.

We attract young talent with the promise that if they perform and the right offer comes in we will let them fly, this has come quickly for Rogers but the moment we break the promise is the moment the talent stops coming

6.5 million plus add ons tops, and that is acceptable.

No not really, and I believe this deal will be even more complicated than some realise. We’ve apparently paid around £1.5 million upfront that was reported as upto 3 with add-ons. If sold for a profit those add ons will be due plus a 20% sell on fee on any further profit made. We aren’t going to sell at £6.5million as it would only give us a paper profit of £2.9 million and cost us more or similar to replace him. So there would be no benefit.

I hope we hold out for 10+ but expect to deal at around 9. If he’s not on a loan back Villa may send someone else our way on loan as a sweetener.

The buys players who are rough diamonds with the hope they develop so we can shift them on at a profit. It’s our clubs model.

We have no idea of his contract or the deal with City. The club will have a trigger point value that will see him sold.

I think a clear £3-4m deal profit would see him sold which isn’t bad for 6 months development.

We shouldn’t be selling him in the window full stop, we need him especially with Jones potentially injured.

There’s no pressure for us to sell, we shouldn’t even be entertaining bids which is creating a distraction we don’t need around these 2 games.

Just tell them he’s not for sale in this window.

If you have an integrale I'll buy it?

If reports are true that Rogers has been unsettled and wants to go to Villa, we'll sell. That's football and that's our model.

City's sell on fee (rumour it could be as high as 40%) means we absolutely HAVE to squeeze Villa for as much as possible, though. Rogers doesn't seem like a daft young lad who'll down tools if our valuation isn't met and he stays, though.

And we do NOT sell before Tuesday!
