Football Manager 2024

I've been on it since the beta came out and I've just about finished my 3rd season. I started with Barca and it's been a struggle with no money trying to compete with Real for the league, although they do have some good youngsters coming through. Lamine Yamal is a beast.

Struggling a bit with Boro… should have signed a striker in the summer, as Lath and Coburn aren’t cutting it.

McGree, Rodgers, Greenwood and Jones are all decent, but a bit inconsistent. So all in all quite realistic really 😂

McGree is a nightmare for injuries on mine, so yeah quite realistic!

Started a Boro save and already played a season in which I was promoted through the play offs, thank Fu** I did because our finances are destroyed to the point Gibbo is trying to sell. The play offs themselves I lost the first leg 3-2 before beating Southampton 2-0 at home, Dieng saved a penalty at 0-0
The final itself was why we play FM, Boro Vs Leeds, I took a 2-0 lead but they had 35 shots and about 14 on target and in the end broke me scoring twice in the last 4 minutes. Looked like it was heading to Pens when Sammy Silvera rifled home in the 118th minute.
Been a tough start to the Prem, 15th after 11 games and struggling to find consistent results. However the only game I've been destroyed in was Liverpool away when Greenwood was sent off, who I triggered the clause for £1.5 million. What a bargain

Officially released yesterday, has anyone been playing it since the beta came out?

I started a save with Boro and decided to go with the real world mode where signings happen on the dates they did in real life (I also turned off the first transfer window).

Gone for a formation very similar to one that Carrick plays and after 3 games in the league I'm 5th on 7 points, and beat Leicester in the first round of the cup.

First impressions of the Boro squad is that Jones is really good, Rogers decent and van den Berg doing very well at RB as I wait for Tommy Smith to return from injury.

I decided to play McNair as an inverted left back instead of Coulson whilst I wait for Bangura and Engel to sign.
yeah into the fourth season. won the league first season but only with a late surge of form. Was a bt crazy as Southampton came 4th and had 97 pts. 2nd Season a more than respectable 9th place. 3rd season a fortunate 3rd place finish (could have finished 8th going into last day) and now had a good start to the 4th season unbeaten after the first 5 games, not played anyone decent yet mind.

I also play 4231 with Dael fry bizarrely playing excellently as a inverted right full back. Bangura, Greenwood, VDB, Jones, Latte Lath all very good first couple of seasons.

Slight let down in my save had been Hackney and Coburn. Just sold them both as were poor in the prem and didn't kick on, especially Coburn.

Was wondering if the 1.5m clause was in there (AKAIK it's never been officially confirmed by either party, only the media).

Might have to get a Boro save up and running

I've just taken over Scarborough Athletic I'm taking them to the top until Carrick is sacked and the boro job comes available 😉

I'm playing, managing Boro. Went for the new mode where the transfers are happening in real time so still have Akpom etc here but transfer pending. Just about managed to put a team out for the first match of the season, got U21's I've never heard of making up most of the bench. Need Kieran Scott to get me some full back cover urgently.

I haven't played a new FM game for a few years now. I echo some of the comments that there is too much to do these days and the glory days of 01/02 are not likely to be beaten. I would like to play again though. Roughly how long does it take to do a season? I want to know how long I would need to commit to know whether I even have the time to play.

It depends how immersive you want your experience to be. I like to go into great detail with some aspects, like tactics and transfers, but others like training or pre/post match interviews I'm not overly fussed with. The option to assign those tasks to your assistant/dof etc is invaluable. I am able to play as a reasonably quick speed playing the way i like to play

I'd say a season for me if I'm fully into playing can take just under a week, I don't really bother with training or press-conferences, spend most of my time inbetween games looking for players.

On console you can do a season in 2-3 days, PC I'd say 4-5, a week if you only play sporadically
