Yay or Nay time..... SG-Reenwood?

Suppose we can only buy him if we can agree terms with him? Presume the player still has to agree to the move even if the club has the option to buy?
Yes, I agree. Lots of presumptions and hypothetical scenarios.
All we do know is that we have an option to buy in the summer for £1.5m.
As I understood it if we want him he is ours for that amount.
I'm just going by that basic knowledge unless more details come out regarding clauses and caveats.

If it’s doable then it’s a massive yay for me, and has been from the beginning.
On Saturday I was actually thinking he wasn’t having his best game and might be worth swapping for Silvera early in the second half. Then he robbed their keeper, won a pen, and scored, all in a 5 minute spell, and made me feel like a right clueless berk.
I think he’s got a big future and will only get better the more games he plays.

It is never ever a good idea to swap him for Silvera.
I'd love to sign him, he has real talent.

Its not going to happen is it? As said above he is on PL wages for the next 3 years, which we cant afford. in the summer if he has done well he will go to a PL club or one thats just been relegated, Leeds just want his wages off the books, he only cost them £1.5m

Did Leeds not have a stipulation on reduced wages after relegation?

I don’t think he’ll have been on something insane, he was hardly a first team regular in the prem.

He's now played the same amount of league games as Aaron Ramsey did during his loan spell for us and he's only 2 goals worse off.

When you consider that Greenwood has only started 6 games compared to Ramsey's 8 (albeit one he got injured early on in), that's not bad going so far, even more so when you consider he came into a team that was really struggling - the complete contrast to Ramsey who came into a team that was flying.

It can only be a Yay for me.

If Boro are serious about promotion he is the type of player needed. £1.5m is a great deal when considering the amount paid for the likes of Ashley Fletcher.

When I read the title I thought it was about an additional match stat I'd never heard of.
XG-Expected Goals, SG-?

What's the rush, we have him on a seasons loan, with an agreement in place of a 1.5m signing on fee if we want to make it permanent.
We can't lose, if he keeps this form up, then we will have a real player on our books next summer, if he fades away or gets badly injured, then we send him back to Leeds.

At his age and lack of experience I doubt he was on full Premier League wages. For me we give him his Leeds wages and pay Leeds £1.5m - He looks a £4m plus player to me, by the Summer. He can tackle, pass, score and has contributed to our pick up in results.

At present he's not a Premier League player, but a very good Championship one.

There is absolutely no way we could make this move permanent on January 1st.
Sam Greenwood has 3 years left on a Premier level wage.
We don't know his current wage or how much he is willing to drop it by for regular football.
Both clubs must suspect it is doable or otherwise why put the purchase option there in the first place?
