I don't especially want Fletcher to leave, but none of our squad are vital in my opinionWe absolutely have to keep Fletcher, he's had a great season and will be huge next year.
Britt has to go this summer. Out of contract next summer, on MASSIVE wages and compared to the rest of the squad could be a point big tension in the squad. If you can get £5m got to be done.
is Fry a Warnock type Centre half? If £8-10m is mentioned I think we will take it.
Nathan Ake to Man City 41mPrices and salaries will have collapsed throughout football.
No but he was involved in the transfer decisions including the dodgy 6.5mill for Fletcher knowing we could have got him for 1.5m 6months earlier. Britt was his main signing, that wasn't thrust on him, it's who he wanted, and knew it was a massive part of our budgetDo you seriously think Monk decided on the wage paid to Britt (or any other player for that matter)?
And as for having Wing "sussed" do you reckon Wing is some dodgy, underhand sort?
Where do we start, he has only ever finished a season in the top 10 goalscorers in the championship once, in 5 tries. That isn't the sign of a 'the best in the championship' because year-on-year he has failed to prove it. During that period there have been far superior scoring records Dwight Gayle, Mitrovic, Rodriguez, Watkins, Grabban, some did well at this level and moved on to the prem like Maupey, McBurnie, Vydra, Chris Wood, Kodjia, etcBritt's scoring record is probably the best in the Championship - anyone like the name a player with better one.
He was a club record signing, and a striker which are always paid more. He is worth what someone will pay for him, and the remaining contract length is a significant contributor to that. Now maybe Bournemouth or Norwich will be dumb enough to bid for him and we can bump the price up but other champo teams will struggle to pay big money this year.He is worth more than £5m if taking into account a drop in fees this season. ... I would say £7.5m for Britt
I also doubt is on £45k a week more like £30k to £35k - Ayala was on £24k on a contract signed in the Premiership
7 I thnik, yes, decent return but we've seen purple patches before from himI think Warnock may think he's got a decent striker on his hands in Assombalonga. 5 goals since his arrival isn't bad in a struggling side. How many did he play?
Ah, so goals only count if they're in a 1-0 win?
I not sure he is causing tension - looks popular when goals are scored etc
Butfor me no one player is vital in this current squad, so we'll have to see what happens
The reason Britt has a good record in the championship is because he has played in this league for a long time. Other strikers who have done well tend to move on. Hell I mean even gestede was bought by a premier League club. Strikers who offer goals but little else like Britt and Rhodes tend to stay down here.
He can sell anyone that he likes but not Tav. He is the only player we have of premier League quality.
Phew!No but he was involved in the transfer decisions including the dodgy 6.5mill for Fletcher knowing we could have got him for 1.5m 6months earlier. Britt was his main signing, that wasn't thrust on him, it's who he wanted, and knew it was a massive part of our budget
Wing -- not a championship quality player, it's that simple. Lacks the game knowledge, pitch awareness, decision making, reactions, technical skills, physical skills, and concentration to make it at this level. He'll be League Two within 2 years and be fairly decent at that level. This isn't a conclusion I've come to now, I saw issues in his game when everyone was going totally over the top about him when he first broke into the side.
3 of those goals were in defeats too, 2 when already 3-0 down and the other team was coasting.
Have to keep scoring to build confidence though, and opener at Millwall and winner at Wednesday were crucial to the 3 points in each
