Big clubs and some of our young lads.
Spence, Coulson, Tav?

We paid a 100k for Friend ????Fair point.
We wont get back what we paid out for those two, but better cut our losses before they just walk away. Another year of both salaries combined for two players who cost a reported total of 21M+ is beyond the clubs means and needs.

Yup, still a lot of levelling out to do, the big wages gotta go. I was surprised not to see McNair on that list. Stoke were sniffing and he's probably worth 4-5millInteresting that he doesn't expect us to spend much, looks like we're still not out of the woods when it comes to finances.
If only we could turn back time and pick any other manager but Garry F***ing Monk.
You can’t make an omelette without breaking an egg . For his Likely fee we can start utilising NWs skill and judgement in bringing a few faces in . Not perfect but wheel and deal
Everyone is assuming he is thinking of selling Britt and he will go elsewhere at much reduced wages due to financial situation in the leagues. What's to say he won't sign a new contract and stay here on reduced wages. As someone said above Warnock seems to like him and he has done well since he came. I am not bothered either way but seeing how we are not going to get a massive fee for him and we are light on strikers it bears thinking about. He said it is midfield where we are overstocked so the likes of Saville, McNair or Wing could be sacrificed. One or all could go for me.
He is very good at this . Think how skilled any worker is after 40 years at the same trade .This is the part he has to get right otherwise it will be much of the same, and he will end up with the same fate as the others.
The thing is he has another year on (reportedly) £35k a week. So thats close enough to £2m to keep him plus maybe £4/5m fee. So could be saving us £7m if he moves on. Which might mean we don't need to sell anyone else.
But if (and its a big if) Warnock can get him firing and he rattles in 20 goals then probably worth it. Needs to sign a new reduced extension now though. Which seems unlikely.
He knows its the only way for the club to move forward, if we need to make money available to get his targets then sacrifices need to be madeHe is very good at this . Think how skilled any worker is after 40 years at the same trade .
Do you seriously think Monk decided on the wage paid to Britt (or any other player for that matter)? His first choices to sell will be:
McNair - I think ideally he would keep as a squad player, but to get our money back and wages off the books would be too good
Britt - if his wages were 20k, not 45k he might look to keep, but his wage and transfer is the highlight of Monks excesses buying midtable champ players for silly wages isn't a great idea, we could probably have signed Ings, Ayoze Perez, Ayew, Gayle and a bunch of far superior strikers for far less investment than the 23m+ we have pumped into signing and paying Britt. In fact the 3 lads at Brentford will be less than Britt

Assombalonga's done well under Warnock, and he has a great bond with Fletcher, but I'm hoping we sell him to Bournemouth or the like to improve our financial situation.
His contribution can be replaced for cheaper and for less wages.

Just don't sell Tav, I don't want to sell Spence either but would prefer to sell him than Tav.
