Mason Greenwood

True, but the CPS decided not to prosecute due to lack of witness (seemingly the girl) and new material that came to light. That material must have give a different perspective to the material realised on social media. Only those involved, or close to the situation really have the full details.
Why is he not releasing the new material if it shows he is innocent? It is his reputation and career on the line. If this new material is the role playing, then I don’t think there is a single person (apart from some Utd fans) that buys that for one second.

There was enough evidence, more than enough, but the key witness, the girl he abused and battered, refused to take the stand after he breached his bail conditions and contacted her. Unfortunately, it seems that to her the fame and money is more important than being physically and mentally abused.

I think that's possibly a bit harsh on his girlfriend. Women and girls in abusive, coercive relationships often stay with and repeatedly go back to controlling partners, which is hard to understand but when someone is subject to that kind of emotional abuse it does affect a person's confidence and esteem to such an extent they feel as though they have no choice.

The rate of divorces has gone down in the UK over the last twenty years. The price of housing has gone up. People are staying in abusive relationships in preference to being homeless.

If he was truly vindicated through new evidence it would be released, and he be playing football already

Oh, the police say there wasn’t enough evidence to go to court.
That’s really all we know

Look we all know what happened, you can google it in 5 seconds and hear the audio

Horrible human being who is mentally sick in the head, he is getting off so lightly it defies belief

You seem to misunderstand the influence of coercion and control UR.

CPS all stated new material that came to light. There is more to this case than people are made aware of in the media.
Absolutely, but the evidence put in the public domain was more than enough to show what kind of person MG is. There is no defending what he done or who he is, no matter how much new material there is that didn't become public.

I didn't realise that Man United's "evidence" that Greenwood did nothing wrong were all from speaking to him and accepting his explanations, they had no interaction with the partner herself.

To be fair, I would be appalled if any employer decided it was appropriate for them to question the victim of such serious alleged offences against one of their employees. That's a job for the police, not for Man Utd.

Nothing about this makes any real sense.

If its genuine then she's a victim of abuse and is still living with her abuser.
If it was role play then by releasing recording she destroyed his career, yet they are still living together. In any scenario it must be a very toxic relationship and now there is a child being put in the middle of it.

Doubt we have heard the last of it sadly.

I agree, but when you've got one of the biggest clubs in the world repeatedly backing the player against the sheer weight of public opinion, I assumed that the evidence would be more than "person accused of rape denies it".

Not sure how much more context you need?

Man: Move your legs up..move your
F***ing legs up
Woman: No...I don't wanna have sex
Man: I don't give a **** what you
want
Man: shut up talking to me ...stop
Woman: stop putting your d*ck there
Man: I'm gonna **** you, you ****
Woman: I don't wanna have sex with
you
Man: I don't care if you don't wanna have F***ing sex with me, do you hear me
Horrific thats rape

That's a good point. It's baffling as to why she'd want to stay with him if he is guilty, but equally why would he want to stay with her if she'd essentially set him up?

Interesting that most football fans don’t want him anywhere near their club..

But most suggest he should go to Saudi

Something that has been missed in this discussion.

If Greenwoods livelihood is taken from him, his partner and child would suffer too. If he has to go to Saudi to ply his trade, again his partner and child will suffer.

Whilst I don't pretend to know what happened, from the available evidence, you wouldn't want him around your daughter. However, as I said at the begining of this discussion, I am uncomfortable with people suggesting he should have his living taken from him.
