The end?

Frontline news

"Last 24 hours was sort of a lull on most parts of the frontline.
The Russians are mostly busy with moving troops, either to reinforce failing frontline sections, or to retage the bank of Dniepro in Kherson.

In the Polohy direction Russia has sent a few small groups to check out the situation at the zeroline.
These have been left alone for the time being in the hope that Russia will move in some major units.
Since the minefields infront of the zeroline are pretty much gone into the annals of history Ukraine is not overly in a hurry to move forward unless they get more troops to squish.
I heard that they may wait for up to a weak before pushing forward again.
After all, it is much more comfy and safe to kill entrenched Russian lacking a minefield infront of them.

Zavitne Bashannye
The village is now taken into a pocket both on the east and west side and fighting is ongoing.
Russia chose to fight for the place even though it is in a bad spot in the lowlands.

Ukraine on the other hand is currently more interested in spreading east-west to gain ground in the higher areas.
Remember here that the entire Ukrainian strategy is to gain the highland ridge between where they are and the sea.
And it is much easier to gain that if they follow the higher elevetion going there.
By taking the elevetions the lowlands will fall easier anyway.

Novodonet'ske
This is an important Russian fortification that so far has withstood the pressure, but yesterday Ukraine broke through East of the town taking it into a pocket.
They are now firing into the town from 3 sides and it is expected to fall in a few days.

From there Ukraine can go straight down and take Kermenchyk and the important crossroads that will take you into Staromlynivka from the East.
Going this route would shorten the battle for Staromlynivka with at least a week, if not more.

Kherson
At Kozachi Laheri Ukraine now has enough control to increase the number of shipments of troop and gear.
Daily between 100-150 troops arrive and slowly somewhat heavier gear like mortars and lighter howitzers are arriving before the battle with the VDV Lada-cavalry.

Ukraine now has very good territorial control around the landing and the river approach making it possible to almost safely cross the Dniepro.

Over at the Castle there's a fresh batch of Russians that have ambled in.
They are forlornly ambling about from there in the country side looking for bridges to cross into Kherson.
There is a lot of swearing as they discover that the Russians that have been there for a while was telling the truth about there being no bridges.
To get there they had sneakily repaired a bridge, but that was rapidly corrected.

What I find interesting is that they sent 150 mobiks with a few tanks to replace 300 dead Marines...
The remaining 300 marines seems to have thanked them for bringing food by taking it away from them and kicked them out into the country side where they make sad mobik noises.
The marines kept the tanks just to make their life more miserable."

You need to change your name to bravegit! Well done sir, a proper hero making a real difference to the poor people(and animals) who have had there lives torn apart by this senseless and pointless war started by the sad little dictator.
I'm not brave or a hero, just wanting to do something to help. In our WhatsApp team we now have over 200 volunteers who either deliver or supply aid. When I 1st joined it in April 2022 it was about 20 or so. Some have gone over 50+ times.

Update

"So, now that this news is out I can write about it.

Robotyne
On the Robotyne to Tokmak axis the world's most wrongly named brigade has taken over the push.

But first, let me give a small rundown.
Ukraine has 88 brigades in reserve, out of those there are 16 that are assault brigades (mechanized), and a further 16 that are motorized infantry Brigades.
The rest are light infantry and territorial soldiers and border soldiers etcetera.

So, 32 very good brigades.
How much has Ukraine deployed?
Remember please that these are above and beyond the frontline units that held the frontline previously.

Nipples of Luhansk
2 motorised Infantry
1 Mech Assault Brigade, used to be the 21st doing the denipplification, now it is another.

Bakhmut
2 motorised Infantry

Vuhledar
1 Mech Ass Brigade
1 Motor Inf Brigade

Urozhaine/Staromlynivka
1 Mech Ass
1 Motor

Polohy
21st

Robotyne
2 Mech Ass
1 Motor
+a new Mech Ass (I will return to this one)

Kakhovka
1 Mech Ass
1 Motor

Kherson
1 Motor
Marine Battalion
1 Light Infantry

This means that 8 out of 16 Mech Ass is in fight right now and 10 out of 16 Motors.

What is new is that Ukraine injected two new heavy western equipped Brigades.
I have already extolled on the virtue of the 21st ad nauseam, so let me talk a tad about the:
82nd Airborne Assault Brigade.
It is the US attempt at doing a 21st.
It is a very powerful Brigade, but not our monstrosity heavy.
It is equipped with Leo 2A6 tanks, plus Stryker IFVs.
They are well trained, and have a very competent commander with a brain above his sholders.

So, in honour of the US they named it after the famous 82nd Airborne, and hilarity ensued.
82nd Airborne is not a heavy unit.
It must though have confused the living **** out of the Russians, heck it confused me alright.

They have now opened up on the Surovikin after making contact yesterday.
The mines are cleared all the way up using Miclic demining charges.
After Colonel Stonehead it must be confusing to see the Ukrainians performing another Combined Arms Assault on their trenches.
Judging from the Sad Trench Noises emanating from the Russians they are not happy with what is happening right now as Ukraine punches through their Great Russian Wall to make way towards Tokmak.

Battle of the Nipples
Slavinska had a lot of fun with me naming the Russian attack strategy in Luhansk Nipples.
She stated that hers are harder than the Russians and that is why she was so good at crushing theirs.
The Battle of Kreminna, and subsequent actions by the 21st crushed the Russian ability to attack in any real strength due to high armour losses, this was the signal the Ukrainians had been waiting for.

They rapidly rotated out the 21st that had singlehandedly crushed the Russian offensive for a lesser but still good Mech Ass Brig, and sent them clattering across Ukraine at breakneck speed together with other heavy units and Motors.

In two days two heavy brigades have been deployed tipping the scale to Ukraines favour, and more news like this is coming.
Ukraine is ramping up the heat, but not necessarily the speed at this point in time.
Speed will come later when Russias troops are further depleted.
This is more to make it easier to kill as many as possible in as short time as possible in as comfy manner as possible.

Russian Southern HQ was very proud reporting that they had injected two battalions in Zhap, they had barely gotten into position as 4 Brigades slammed into the Frontline from Ukraine.
This obviously created Sad Shoigu Unit Envy Size Noises in Moscow.

Generals
Russia killed two generals yesterday.
Another general, the former commander of Putin RozGvardia was killed in Prison where he was serving his sentence for Corruption of all things since 2017.
He was just about to be let out to take command in Bakhmut area...

Surovikin is confirmed to be alive, but broken.
He is at home in house arrest.
There is now a total of 3 Russian generals in Ukraine leading the entirety of the campaign.
Obviously this is impossible to do in a modern war, but the Russians are rejoicing since Putins friends that have never been in the army is now leading daily operations.
Especially the soldiers are outstandingly happy having civilians issuing orders to them.
The Civilians have titles though...
They are called Political Commissars, history is laughing its **** off...

Guests
Some of the Mobiks that got robbed of their equipment and food at the Castle yesterday have found a few logs, and are now traversing the Dniepro in our direction while making Sad Bubbly Mobik Noisees, so we do not even go and pick them up any longer, they are coming to us.
I am very curious about learning if they had been told by the others at the Castle that they would get fed here?
We will see!"

Post script

"Forgot this...

There are reports from all over Russia that petrol stations in the rural areas are at an increasing rate out of fuel to sell.
The City of Kuban for instance have been dry for a week now.
Crimea is also out of fuel for civilian use.

Remember all those refineries blowing up?
Russia will never run out of crude oil, but refined products are running out all over the place now since the military get first dibs.

I know that Ukraine is putting hitting two more refineries as their top priority since that would impact even the armys consumption.

No cars, and the vodka price is set to increase by 20 percent by mid-september.
Tea? Up to 80 percent.
There's a lot of Sad Civilian Noises coming out of Russia now."

I'm not brave or a hero, just wanting to do something to help.
That sounds like something a hero and a good person would say. The kids next week who will get a meal or medical supplies because you delivered them might not know you but will think the person helping them is a hero, the animal rescues will think you're a hero when you deliver the supplies. You might not be on the battlefield and you might not think of yourself as a hero but you are totally unselfishly doing more good than most of us will ever do and I hold that in full admiration. I will leave this(and the praise for your good work) with this David Gemmell quote.

"Heroes are people who face down their fears. It is that simple. A child afraid of the dark who one day blows out the candle; a women terrified of the pain of childbirth who says, 'It is time to become a mother'. Heroism does not always live on the battlefield."

Money talks.

"A strange development has happened.

I told you about the company of 150 mobiks that was sent as reinforcement to the Castle, got robbed by the marines there, and then got kicked out into the wild.
Well, they collectively said sod this, voted on what to do and started to swim across Dniepro.

We fished up the first batch of 22 about an hour ago.
Turns out that the Russians know we are here, and that we treat people well if they give up.
Whoever said that PR does not work knoweth not what they talk about.

So far so good, we have after all spent time on informing those in the Castle that if they surrender they will get fed and paid for their troubles.
Turns out the marines told about the horrible Zheleznyy Polkovnik who smoked half their battalion, and generally terrorise them non-stop, but that treats POVs well.
Basically they had been told that they would be smoked by us, or they could surrender.

The mobiks pondered the news that 350 marines had been killed, and their own ability as mobiks to survive what the marines could not inside a fortress.

Anyway, they knew from where we came, and what we are, and they knew my "nom de guerre".
Their commanding officer was a pimpled junior lieutenant who looked at me like I eat children.
So, I played the part, and barked something scary sounding in Swedish "Ge dem té och röka = Give them tea and smokes" and stomped off.
I got around the corner just in time before I started to giggle, I am proud of myself for holding out that long.

Now I just have to figure out where to put 150 drenched Mobiks.
And in the morning I have to somehow arrange a pretty pile of dollar bills... technically they are not my Russians, but if it works to pay for them to give up, nobody at HQ will complain about a pile of cash well spent.
It is after all far cheaper to buy mobiks than kill them.
After that and having a chat with that pimpled youth I will though hand them over to the Ukrainians.

Come think about it, these will to my knowledge be the first Mobiks that actually get paid in this war.
Russia, what a joke.
The boys will be busy all night hauling them out since they are coming in batches.
I give the mobiks A+ for daring to swim across the river in the dark.

Weirdest part is that the youngster will probably be able to get free drinks on having survived meeting me at home in Omsk.
Now the Iron Colonel will have a cup of tea with homemade cherry jam and smoke his cigar before going to bed.

Oh, forgot... the going surrender-scale for Russians
1 000 USD for a general soldier.
2 000 for a Sergeant
3 000 for pimpled Liutenants
5 000 for a captain
10 000 for a major
15 - 25 000 for colonels
Commanding officer Castle is though quite a bit more, that would be on the order of restart your life because he would be killed in Russia.
Put this into the perspective that a single Excalibur is 100 000USD..."

Filing under, you have to laugh ...
My mate is about 6 foot 3 and probably about 17 stone. In his special ops kit, he probably looks pretty impressive. He also has some dental issues that make him appear a bit like some backwoods hillbilly .... he appears to have no bottom front teeth, save for one, which sprouts some way back in his mouth from where you'd expect a tooth to reside. So far so scary. But he has an improbably high voice for someone so intimidating in appearance.... not quite Mickey Mouse, but, you know. Anyway, the thought of him barking at someone made me chuckle. I suppose, with all the uniform and surrounded by 204 cm guards, it probably has a David Lynch level of weirdness that would feck with your head. :ROFLMAO:

I'm tempted to sign up and surrender for that money! With the current losses I could be a colonel in a week or two then surrender 🤣.

Shorty

"This is just a short little update on the front and on the Brigade Injection Scheme.

Bakhmut
It seems like deepstate has stopped updating there for some reason.
Klichi'ivka has been liberated for more than a week now.

Zavitne Bazhannya
Ukraine rotated out the Azov and Kraken Brigades a couple of weeks ago for reconstitutioning and fattening up with more gear.
These are pound for pound the finest stormtroopers for trench warfare that exist.

Kraken is busily aiding with clearing towards the East widening the salient, and also storming positions East and West of Zavitne.
At the same time the heavy mechs are building bridges to be able to move forward to Staromlynivka.
Zavitne is expected to fall within days.

Polohy
Russia tried to use helicopters here.
The nice little KH-52 was rudely interupted as a laser-guided RBS-70 slammed into it as it was expecting the Russian trenches filled with puréed Blyatniks.

A few elderly Swedish men was sadly left alone in a garage, so they invented something purposebuilt to deconstruct attack helicopters, how rude of us.
Obviously the RBS-70 has longer reach than the helicopters, so there's a lot of Sad Helicopter Noises emanating from the Russian side as their most effective weapon just got turned into an uneffective pile of junk.

Robotyne
Ukraine has now issued images of flags waving over Robotyne.
At the same time Azov stormed the Surovikin like East and West of Robotyne, it was successfull and they are now through the worst of the lines.
Here Ukraine is pushing East and uphill to widen the salient now, while at the same time doing preparatory work in the direction of Tokmak.
It is now the third day of heavy artillery strikes in and around Tokmak.

I would like to remind everyone about the importance of taking the railway line since it is the highest point on the way to the sea.
When Tokmak falls, it is game over for Russia.
The Russians will fight like idiots to hold this area.
Even more so than at other spots.
Any little village will be defended to the last meter and soldier.

Kozachi Laheri
Yesterday Ukraine issued a video clip of happy soldiers gliding along the Konka River to Kozachi Laheri on a bit barge with a Zuzanna 155mm artillery vehicle on top.
This means that Ukrainian control is such that they now can bring in heavy equipment from the Mech Ass Brigade that is waiting to cross, sorry let me corret that, it is after all crossing over already.
And, remember that the video was released after 48 hours.

As I wrote many months ago, the goal was always Kherson.
I have lost count on how many times I have been told that I was an idiot for saying it.
Obviously I had good intel, but it is also the perfect way to go to shut off Crimea.

The rest is just a bonus if Ukraine can do it this year, but Kherson will fall.
There is no sustainable road to bring in heavy enough units to win here for the Russians.

Currently Ukraine is clearing the forrestline next to the river, but behind that there is just oodles of flat nothingness.
It is the wet dream for tank warfare.
As Ukraine get in their armour on ferries and barges there is nothing that light infantry can do.
The infantry would be spotted kilometres away and be annihilated with gunfire.
It may take Ukraine a few weeks to a couple of months to bring enough over to take it all, but after that it is over.
Conclusively over.

The next thing that will happen is that Ukraine will inject that massive army in waiting in Vuhledar and punch down towards Mariupol and the Russian army will basically be no more.

Conclusion
This phase of the war is on its last legs, it will take 3-5 months to finish, but after that only Donbas will remain.
But, that is for next year, and will require even more armour and artillery than this campaign.
There is obviously the "risk/chance" that Russia will fold after losing Crimea and the Southern Landbridge.

If not Ukraine will have to crush the remains of the Russian army in Donbas.
That is the next chance for Russia to break up.
It is also about now that the economic warfare is starting to take hold.
From now on the Russian inflation will be at around 10 percent per month.
The rouble drop will continue at about the same rate.
Interest rates will continue to climb.
Life will each month become even worse.
And, remember that the rural parts of Russia will now face a winter without diesel and petrol/gasoline, so no working cars, no working tractors, etcetera.
It will be an extremely unpleasent winter for them indeed.

Russians totally enjoy being miserable, but even that has an end, there will be more and more civil unrest.
And some governors will try to strike separate deals with neighbouring countries to get fuel and food deliveries, if they do not they will be removed from power by the locals.
There are already local governments trying to borrow up money privately to keep things running, it is mostly failing.
Anyway, every day a province takes a minute babystep away from the grip of Moscow, if they do not they will not survive after all.

King Bore will not be kind to Russia, and suffering paired with massive battlefield losses just makes things worse, suffering with hope of victory is one thing.
Suffering while waiting for an army to show up and conquer you is something completely different.

If the unlikely happens that Russia survive until fall of 2024 that is exactly what will happen.
Ukraine will then be forced to take a security zone around them, or even go for Moscow in 2025.

I am now waffling."

PS

"Polohy
Noticing that no new Russians arrived the 21st instead went on a new Hot24 East and West of the sector of the zeroline that was erased the last time around.
This will double the length where the zeroline does not exist, and opens up for clearing the minefieds on the way towards Polohy and the first Surovikin line.

Tokmak Direction
The First Surovikin line at Robotyne and Verbove has broken and there is now clear evidence of Russia attempting to withdraw back to the Second Surovikinline.
This was made possible due to Azov rapidly rolling back the Russians along the trenchline from both Verbove and Robotyne direction.

Ukraine is now pouring cluster shells over the evacuating Russians to limit how many will reach the next line.
At the same time they are firing heavy barrages over Novoprokopivka and Solodka Balka, the S2-line, the road down to Tokmak, and Tokmak itself.

S2 is less mined than S1 and the Zeroline was, and the final S3 is only lightly mined.
My guess is that Ukraine will be breeching S2 in about a weeks time due to it being less defended and equiped.

Moo's-Cow
There is now fullblown panic.
They are grabbing people on the streets now throwing them into trains that go directly to Donbas.
The only order is, find a gun, find ammo, find equipment, fight.
No training is given, no nothing.
We are now at the stage of mobiks in fake adidas-tracksuits and flipflops throwing stones.
They can't believe that this will make any difference whatsoever."

Wow, things are moving fast.

"Well... I was wrong.
It will probably not take a week.

They are really pushing it.
The recon units are at Tokmak.
They even took the time to repaint the sign from the red/white/blue that it had a few days ago.
And then they raised the flag and went out into the morning mist.
This is just behind S3, and right infront of the ringdefence of Tokmak.

The advance units are at Novopropokivka behind S2.

The main mech brigade overran the Russians that tried to flee.
Then they started to assault S2 before the Russians was ready.
This was all enabled by having knowledge of where the minefields was places so that they could run around them.
It also helped that the road was not mined due to the Russians trying to bring their soldiers and equipment back."
