Is he coming or what? People are obsessing over who we will sign up front but a GK remains top priority for me. Is Steffen done or what?
 
Someone said it was last week, just waiting on work permit and clearances.

No idea if this is true or not.

Do you need a new WP to move on loan in the same country?
 
I think CW must appreciate its an area we need a main no1, equally as we need a main no9 but most people concentrate on the forwards cos they're the glamour, big name, usually the big cost too but i reckon CW will be equally as focused on Steffen or some goalie aswell as strikers. Roberts came in who i wouldn't be against us starting the season with as he did really well last year by all accounts and honestly anything is an improvement on the two clowns we had last year - Yes i know one is still here
 
I heard (from the gazette I think) the deal was "done" during the York game. So I'd assume that's the deal between Boro / City / Player, and we're just waiting on the papers.
 
Apparently it's a work permit. It seems odd it would take a while as he's been at City for 2 years. I guess it's the same as any 'foreigner' who gets a new employer. You can't change the rules just because he's a millionaire footballer.

He's missing out on a week in Portugal. So bet he's gutted 😂

No you weren't claiming that, I didn't mean to say you were but I accept it came across that way.

I was trying to point out that watching him play a handful of games on TV is not the best way to judge/sign him as some are keen to do.
 
When I was watching MLS on Freesports the other day during the New York game they were discussing American goalkeepers. As Freesports take the local feed rather than like Sky adding their own commentators they were US based ones. They were talking like the deal was done. MLS website was talking about it too. Seems to be pretty much a done deal from the info from the US side. Just waiting for the work permit before its confirmed.

I’ll go with the fact he wants to be the US national team keeper and would appreciate a reputable club who will be giving him very important playing time prior to Qatar.
Contributing to that club being promoted back to the PL also a major motivator👍

There's a big difference between seeing a GK "play a handful of games on TV", and seeing a GK (on TV), get a clean sheet, in a cup final, for Manchester City.

If he's good enough to be Man City's #2, he's good enough to be Middlesbrough's #1. We don't need to see him in real life to know that.
