I watch a lot of YouTube nowadays but recently there’s seems to be loads more adds than normal .
I watch it through skyQ so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it , I think il start watching through the tv app and see if it makes any difference.
Anyone else noticed much difference ?

The PC platform that was once exempt suffers but nowhere near as much as mobile/tablet.

Their policy towards content creators has been revised - or possibly left to AI - which has caused a lot of creators to pull out of late because their content gets blocked.

It's to do with them pushing their subscription, which costs £11.99 pm! It's ridiculous now; getting to the point where it's almost unwatchable due to the amount of ads. You'd think they made more than enough cash already with the advertising (n)

Yes, I find the number of ads has gone up incredibly recently. I watch YouTube almost exclusively on either a Smart TV with built-in YouTube or via a Xiaomi Mi Android TV box. The ads on both are just as bad.

Yeah this is what I was thinking , I think you get more with the paid version like films and the ability to down load .

Content creators should be exactly that - create their own platform and give YouTube the elbow
They have become a force for blocking rather than creating. Let then fall on that sword

I recently started paying for YouTube premium. I know its £11.99 but I watch far more YouTube than actual TV. I would rather just pay this than my TV licence that's roughly the same.

I wouldn't have done it and would probably have gone on watching the many adverts. I got offered 3 months free premium through Samsung in June and once it ran out I simply couldn't go back. I think I started paying a matter of hours because some things were almost unwatchable.

So I'm now paying Sky/Amazon/Netflix/TV licence and YouTube Premium.... It ain't cheap watching TV😕

They’ve reduced the time a video can have two sets of ads it used to be 10 minutes now it’s 8 that could be it

if you get the premium account you get youtube music which is a decent music streaming service. i was paying much the same for a deezer family account, so I switched to a youtube premium family account and we get a comparable music streaming with the added bonus of no YouTube ads.
