Your favourite "thing" about match days?

The walk from the pub/car to the ground. We all turn into the expert managers at this point.

No matter how negative/pessimistic I have felt through the week (obviously not recently), in that hour before the game I seem to get a burst of optimism. Feel like we can beat anyone.

Each game I have been to recently I have not had a drink and honestly I have enjoyed it more. Not sure if I would had we been lingering around the bottom three struggling for goals like.

Cup of Bovril, match programme, jackpot ticket and half time penalties. The whole experience has just become more enjoyable and it helps leaving with three points and plenty of goals.

The journey up there, a rare opportunity for some peace and quiet. Usually listen to the Boro Breakdown or some other podcasts. 😁

Mind you I have started bringing my eldest recently, nice to get him involved although he hasn’t quite been bitten by the bug yet (he’s only 6).

Going past the Navi over the rail crossing and then entering our
bi-weekly completion to guess the number of opposition coaches outside the East stand.
I still say l was right with my answer of 2 last week.
1 coach and a minibus counts as 2..... but l was overruled :(

Used to love it when I lived in the area, wake up, get washed and preened, meet up with the mates, couple of jars, dodgy burger from one of the vans, couple daft bets I’ll never see any returns from, watch the Boro, win lose and draw, one or two more scoops and off home for a takeaway.

Walking to the ground with my 6 year old boro MAD son. Talking about the game, who will play, who will score, etc. Then meeting my 2 brothers for a couple of pints in the ground while little legs goes and watches the players warm up.
Taking our seats and seeing the unwavering excitement on my boys face as the players walk out and the music is playing.
Anything good that happens from this point onwards is just a bonus.
Love match days.
It's as much about connecting with my son and brothers and social interactions I have with other people I bump into as it is about the football.

Haha. We used to play that game when we sat in the upper East.

I’ve actually stopped enjoying matchday as much, which is the reason I’m not renewing.

Been going for 50 plus years and a season ticket holder for nearly 40 of those but just don’t get the buzz anymore, even this season when they have been playing really well.

My interest in football in general has declined, barely watch any on tv now including the World Cup, but I’ll watch the Boro games online next year.
