You win £100 million whats the first 5 things you are going to do.

Without giving this too much thought. I would build a load of houses. Say 1000 for circa £100k each. Then rent them out for £200/month to families who would benefit from low rent. I would the donate half of the rent to local charities such as food banks, homeless shelters etc.

The other half I would blow on coke and strippers

Where are you finding the land to build 1000 houses on, and aren't you in danger of creating some sort of charity village with all the stigma's that would come with living there ?

Honestly I'm suspecting you haven't really thought this through ;)

This is true - however being responsible for a section of the Test would just be a headache -being by the Test I would have access to great water for me lake ( and of course be in Gods own county - the way the sun beams whenever one drives over the border is a simple joy) - I would of course be close enough to amble over and chuck a mayfly or two when the mood and hatch combine.
Yes, that's why you'd employ a river keeper 😀

I help out a friend on the Itchen guiding during the Mayfly hatch, it's certainly a lovely time to be on the river.

1. A house and new car for myself, my family and a small number of very close friends. Nothing too expensive, just good family homes we can all live in close together.
2. Physio / personal trainer and private medical treatments for them all to improve quality of life across the board.
3. Set up a business or trust to provide a reasonable monthly income for everyone involved with some extra to increase that income over time in line with inflation.
4. Travel the world.
5. Use what’s left to invest and generate funds to be used to help people in the area I grew up. Things like donating computers and musical instruments to my old Primary school, providing grants or angel investment in startup businesses and funding free childcare and youth club facilities.

He could buy 1000 houses and just rent them out under market value.. would be a pretty busy landlord for that.

Similar to the folks talking about investments and businesses.. gonna be pretty busy and you run the danger of becoming a full time financial manager.. boring af

Or re-dvelop some derelict properties. Double whammy on the feel good factor.

I would employ people to manage it. Running costs coming out of the homeless shelter fund though unfortunately. Coke and stripper money is ring fenced.

I think this might be how cults get started. 😉

Edited to add the 😉

Be nice to help out here and there anonymously.
For example I'd transfer a 6 figure sum to Private Beharry
It would be nice to pay for someones shopping in the supermarket occasionally if they look like they might appreciate it and agree to it.
I'd buy a nice private villa somewhere not too far away, including staff, and make it available for families with terminally ill kids to have a holiday.
I'd give to every local causes eg village halls, churches, community gardens etc and match fund every time someone I know raises money for charity.
All anonymously.
I suspect I'd get more pleasure out of that than spending it on a Rolls Royce or a Superyacht or a Private Jet etc etc.

I’m sorry but.. I don’t think there is anyone else on this thread who has meticulously planned for such a windfall like you have. Hats off Sir!

I like that most people talk about helping others and agree with zzzzz that you would get more pleasure out of that than anything you could buy yourself.

Other than the Coke and hookers of course 😂

So.. looks like £10m lasts 8 years.. £1.25m a year.. £100m is gonna take something special.. even with the cozzie livz
