I’ve always been bitter about some aspects of Premier League coverage. Nothing new I promise you.

I would get rid of VAR.

I would ban everyone involved in the implementation of VAR from football for life.

I'd like to get of the pre-match nonsense too; no balls on plinths, no parades with mascots, no insincere handshakes. Just each team running out in turn, one to boos, one to cheers, and Mogga kicking the ball high in the air.

... or anthems (like the Champions Leage), weird light shows (like at Chelsea - although it is impressive) or banners/badges/flags/t-shirts for this month's cause (however worthy it may be).

Oh and minutes of silence/applause ... fewer of those too please (however worthy they may be).

Change world cups and Euros to knock-out games only. Make every game matter from the very first match to the last one.

Get rid of third place playoffs in any competition where they exist.
