The guy should pretty much retire. A fit Carroll is an absolute nightmare to play against. I remember him destroying us with west ham at the Riverside. He's an absolute specimen of a target man. Just never fit.

was just throwing it out there as we are obviously making a pig’s ear out of finding strikers/target men currently. So was thinking that if we are going to do that we might aswell do it properly.

I suspect we’ll sign Connor Whickham with about 15 seconds of deadline day remaining. (Having signed no left sided players or creative types).

I’d say no to this, but I was thinking with players like Carroll who rely on heading what will happen to them with the new protocols.
I know it’s only training but I could see him doing 10 headers on day 1 of training, then you’d have to spend the rest of week practicing a different style to how your mostly likely to play come game time.

If he was fit and could play regularly, he probably would be. I don’t think it’s a question of ability but whether he could maintain any sort of fitness.
