"Agree to an extent - but they should have scored 2, thats the let off. Those 2 chances would never be missed again."

Those chances were gifted not made. Howson passed the ball the their centre forward for the first and Glover dropped the ball for the other. Those two chances wouldnt be gifted again on another day.

Anyone who says no has to be lying. We are still massive underdogs, however a penalty shootout is a much more level playing field. Plus, I genuinely cannot remember the last time we lost a shootout, probably going back to at least the 90's
We did lose one to Liverpool recently I recall. Wasn't it about 20-19 or something like that?

I would snap your hands off for them, tbh.

Obviously would prefer to win outright, but I think we're more likely to lose as is, penalties would give us a great chance.

Yes. 100%. A penalty shoot out to get to a cup final or 90+ mins without a handful of our best players who even if we were full strength would still have us as huge underdogs.

HOWEVER... I do feel in my waters that we can frustrate and strangle them and stop them from scoring twice.

This table must only go back so far; I can remember going to Chesterfield for a League Cup Game in the 1980's and watching us lose on penalties.

It’s a bit odd that table, as it also doesn’t include us beating Everton on penalties the round before the Spurs game in our victorious 2003/04 season.

I wouldn't take penalties now. I want to watch the game and hopefully enjoy it. I would think not one of our team, including Carrick would take penalties now.

Time to put our big boy pants on fellas.
