Mine, Efil4zaggin by NWA. After the success of Straight Outta Compton, their eagerly awaited second album was absolute dogsh*t. One listen, enough. Brutal.

Still have it at mam and dad's house in the cellophane wrap, never to see the light of day again.

🤮🤮

Its a draw between:

War - U2.
Might be controversial to some, but I really didn't like it. It was sold on within a very few weeks.

And,

Japanese Whispers -The Cure.
Liked 'The Walk', thought the rest was pap.

Leonard Cohen . His album co produced with Phil Specter . Confessions of a Ladies Man ... so bad I took it back to Musicscore in Durham and swapped it ... Love Cohen and got all of his others but this was so badly produced

I remember buying Papa Roach - Infest and thinking it was absolute guff. Gave it away pretty quick, considering I was a bit of a hoarder of cds/dvds back then it shows how much I disliked it!

St Jude - The Courteeners.

Absolute lad-rock dirge. Can’t believe I was suckered into the hype. Gave it away.

I'm so glad someone else said Kid A before me.... Most disappointed I've ever been with a physical music purchase.
I was very excited about it coming out. Had grown totally bored of all the guitar music I had been listening to in my youth and was really excited for something new. As it turned out around the same time 10000 Hz legend by air came out. That was the new music I had been looking for. Buffalo daughter were on the album which led to me listening to all this fantastic Japanese music. And from air and daft punk I started listening to stuff like gainsbourg and yeye music.

Tool - Lateralus bought it on the hype, the artwork (which was excellent) and the comparisons to King Crimson (which were well wide of any mark). Hated it, took it back to the shop and they agreed to give me a credit note, which was fine bought something else (no recollection what). Only album I've ever done that with still got lots of albums that I don't particularly like but none that I've hated so much.

The Fall Live at the Which Trails bought in the late seventies/ early eighties think I actually swapped it for another album with a mate, hated it at the time but really love it now just needed to give it a chance lol

There's quite a few of the albums named above I love!

Anyway one that springs to mind, I bought Maxinquaye by Tricky and loved it. While browsing a record shop later I came across Nearly God and bought that. Thought it was absolute rubbish, never played it since. I'll have to give it a play now to just to see if it's quite as bad as I remember.

The one album I can remember being disappointed in was Rattle and Hum by U2. I was 15 and was the world's biggest U2 nerd, and was beyond excited when it came out. But it wasn't that great, still better than most stuff they released after that though!
