Woodhouse leaves Marske

Curtis Woodhouse's tenure at Marske United is over. It seemed a very odd appointment at the time and he's spent the last week or 2 arguing with fans on social media - not painting himself in very good light - and seems the club have taken action against the clubs horrendous run of form, even though they won away on Tuesday!

The playing staff have been almost completely overhauled this season, must be a nightmare trying to get any cohesion with so much changes in the dressing room. Not sure where the club go now but they've got to get it right if they're to stay in the division.

Only a matter of time since he started slagging Bosh on twitter, then took the 9 shirt off him, then dropped him completely. Seemed like he was a couple of days away from shipping him out. Pair that with the awful league form, and signing 2-3 28 day loans a week to pad the team out who on the whole were useless, and it was always gonna happen sooner rather than later

It's not easy taking a team over when the players no longer want to be there, and not easy to bring in new players mid season either. Using Twitter is not a good route for a manager to take, nobody uses it to listen.

The board have listened to the fans which to me is a good thing. Sad it hasn't worked out but he's been lashing out on social media lately so it was only a matter of time. Think the job was too big for him. Nobody is bigger than the club, we'll go again and the club will continue to be well ran.

I have to be careful in what I say but there's been a lot of unrest behind the scenes for quite some time, pre-dating Woodhouse and that unrest has contributed to the position that Marske find themselves in today.

Woodhouse was a terrible appointment and all the worst fears of those of us who advised against it are now being realised, however difficult taking a job mid-season (Carrick is an example of how it should work) it does not excuse crossing behavioural boundaries and not treating players and fans with respect.

The departure of Woodhouse is not just down to results, however bad they have been, but to other factors that were always likely to happen given the character of the man.

Hopefully the imminent return of some of the previous coaching staff will steady the ship and these unfortunate few months are a speed hump and not an emergency stop to the progress the club has made over the last few years.

I bear Woodhouse no ill will and hope that he learns from this experience and it helps him become a better football manager if that is the path he decides to continue, a high turn over of players is always the sign of discontent and is never going to allow a platform for any stability to be built upon.

Imminent return of 'some' of the previous coaching staff?

What do you know Mary? 👀

I've heard Martin Gray's name more than a couple of times in the last hour.

Interesting, I'm not close to anyone at the club but was surprised when Jarrett resigned. Seemed odd timing given promotion the previous season and a great start to this one in the highest division they've ever been in.

I've managed to get to a fair few games this season and I think it would have been tough for whoever took over from Jarrett with summer departures and then more departures when he left. I fear they'll be more player departures now Woodhouse has left; Jake Day (who only played 2 games!) has already gone, I wonder about Horbury (on loan from Harrogate) and Chimalilo (looks a good player).

Can't see any way they stay up from here, but would be very happy to be wrong. Best I can see is getting someone to come in, stabilise, and re-build for next season.

Woodhouse is now throwing some serious accusations around on Twitter about people involved with the club. It's turned into a right soap opera at the minute

Couple of Boro lads on loan there as well, Oli Swan and Alfie Doherty.

Oddly the Boro website has only reported on Swan. (and ignored some other loans to teams at a similar level)

The bloke seems pretty unhinged. Surprised Marske appointed him actually, he's not exactly pulled up trees anywhere else he's been.

He's gone daft, calling the old media lad out with some serious accusations and then on the next breath he preaches mental health. He's a proper ******, didn't understand the village and the club, didn't really understand the job and a job at a small village club was ultimately too much for him and he is potentially the worst thing to ever happen to Marske united. The club was on a high, fans village etc all buzzing and he come in and destroyed the whole thing in a few months.

I cant imagine he gets another job in football after this episode.

I assume his *profile* attracted the club to him? I guess it could be seen as a bit of a coup having an ex-pro who has played at a decent level in charge?

Must have completely ignored his other spells in non-league though?

Completely lost the plot. Wouldn't at all be surprised if the lad he's accusing takes the legal route. Hell of an accusation to throw about assuming it's false.

Anyways new signing(s) announced later this evening. Doesn't say wether it's a player or management...

Great news.

Following the recent change in the Management. Marske United confirm the return of previous manager Carl Jarrett plus coaches Ian Clark and Dave McTiernan until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The club would urge all supporters to get behind the new management team starting with the visit of Warrington Town to Mount Pleasant tomorrow.

Will galvanise the fans. Hopefully he catches the bug again and stays longer.

Anyone know why Jarrett left in the first place? My assumption was that it was due to the increased travel in moving up to geographically wider division but not seen that confirmed anywhere
