Wireless CCTV

Already have an alarm system fitted inside but looking for a CCTV system for outside.
Can't be chewed with the chew of loads more cables, anyone got a wireless CCTV system?
Are they effective and how long do battieries last?
 
Wireless cctv will largely be crap. Get something modular like nest where you just drill a hole to a power socket and it uses WiFi. Everything stored in the cloud. Facial recognition, app access
 
For convenience here in Spain I use ‘blink’ not as good as my fully wired cctv at home, but cheap and effective, you do need wifi and internet access. Up and running with two cameras for 80 quid, extra cameras about 20 quid each.. Batteries are easy to replace and seem to last about a year. Excell picture quality

Nest is the brand
We have Nest outdoor IQ cameras - they do cheaper outdoor ones but the IQ has a 4k sensor to allow it to zoom (it records at 1080p) and we find the 2 way comms and 24/7 recording very useful as well as being able to recognise people

they do Indoor cameras too. There is a monthly that fee that covers all your cameras but gives you 30 days cloud recording (and you can download from that if required)

we looked at a lot of motion stuff but quite often motion isn’t necessarily triggered with all the brands so things will be missed, also useful to just watch live when needed

they’re not cheap but totally modular and easily diy’able

Ta - I'll have a look - just need something basic to watch the front/side/back of house but needs to be good recording quality or not worth having
