Obviously semis and final there is lots on offer but that's not surprising . What's surprising me this year is if you get in the first round either by qualifying or selection you pick up 55k - for losing. If you progress to the 2nd round you are guaranteed 85k, third round exit 131k. Seems to have gone up quite a lot maybe in last 6 years . That buys quite a lot of barley water
 
It's an expensive sport though traveling the world staying in hotels. The gear the trainers etc and the income from Wimbledon and the other grandslams can sustain an athlete through rest of the season
 
That Burrage should get more for the amount she's spent developing her bingo wings. The expert summariser described her as looking 'strong' the other day 😁
 
Andy Murray has long said that more money should be distributed further down the tournament ladder. It may be very hard to
practically achieve that though.

Tennis is very expensive (& hard) travelling the world possibly supporting a coach/physio/fitness.
